I've only read the first volume of Lumberjanes but I love Gotham Academy so this was a must read after finishing the second semester arc. It's done in the Lumberjanes art style which took me a bit to get used to but the story was fun and meaningful. Entertaining crossover 😁
Fight like a Scot!! Stereotyping is wrong but I can't help but love the Scottish stereotype (mainly because I'm Scottish 😂😂)
I didn't enjoy this as much as the regular Lumberjanes graphic novels but the story was interesting in the end!
The hardcore lady types of the Lumberjanes and the students of Gotham Academy join forces to find Rosie and Professor MacPherson. Their only clues are a spooky cabin in the woods and a party invitation from 30 years ago. It's a really fun read that does a good job at examining teen angst and getting older. 🏕🌲🕷🐍🦇
I'm taking a break from true crime today and spending my Sunday morning with a fun graphic novel. #WEEKENDGIVEAWAY
Really enjoyed this graphic novel. I may have enjoyed it more if I had read any of the Gotham Academy comics, but I think this is a pretty good intro to either series.
"And so, it comes down to this..."
It took this book to make me realize that the Gotham Academy characters are *heavily* supported by the scenery of the creepy school & that whole dark-and-gloomy-Gotham aesthetic. Without that background...the characters are kind of flat. Lumberjanes really pulled through and made the book a pick for me (especially Jen! She rocked this book!)
Off to VA with my first read of the trip ✨ (ft. my bookmark which is actually a tissue because I lose all of my bookmarks including the one I brought with me)
Mash-up! Lumberjanes! Chynna Clugston-Flores!
So appropriate for how I feel today (MOAB makes me want to cry).
A great combo of the kids from GA and the Lumberjanes. I wasn't fussed on the artwork, and it felt pretty heavy-handed towards the end there, but overall it was still quite enjoyable. Would like to see another outing with their combined anarchy.
Finally got to read this awesome crossover! It was really cool to see the Lumberjanes meet the Gotham Academy crew. I recommend giving it a read.
I'm ridiculously excited about this one...
I thought this crossover was adorable and fun, but a caveat: I was surprised it didn't really introduce either the Lumberjanes or the Gotham Academy kids. As a result, it's best for fans of both, rather than an introduction to one if you like the other. Still, it's a lot of fun!
I love crossovers! Both comics are fun and centered around strong female friendships, which I love, so it's the perfect mashup. But it's not all fun and mysteries. Every once in a while the girls get political. (Not really but it's relevant!) 😄
The Lumberjanes are probably low hanging fruit for #kickassheroines but since this is a crossover I can also include Maps, Olive, and Pomeline from Gotham Academy. This cover is my favorite of the crossover series because they've swapped outfits and it's super cute

Comic Book Day! Now I just need a break from running D&D sessions so I have time to read them....
???
Sad but true!
I was the kid who always wanted a set of encyclopedias. I might be crazy but looking something up in Google isn't nearly as satisfying as cracking open a new encyclopedia volume and that relief/satisfaction of seeing the entry you were looking for. Faster, yes, but not as fun. (OMG remember microfiche??) I also miss rotary phones and typewriters! Maybe I'm just getting nostalgic in my "old" age. ?
My brain is fried after a long day at work. So some light reading before bed. 😄
What is this madness???!!!!! 😻
My daughter and I will read anything involving Lumberjanes. Now the Gotham Academy series has two new fans. Fun mash-up!
