I finished the 12th and final book of my #24in48 challenge after about 24h15m. And looking around at all the incomplete chores that piled up this weekend... I think this might be my one and only readathon. On the plus side, I made some serious TBR progress, which is great since it seems like I've had 0 time to read for the first half of this crazy year.

Finished up book 11 for my #24in48 almost exactly as I hit 21 hours. Here's hoping I can finish one more around 6:30pm and make it #12for24in48... because maths.

Finished up book 10 of my #24in48 at my hour 19. I figured I could maybe finish two more if I chose strategically, so next up is another recommended to me by my wife that isn't 500 pages

acktopus @2BR02B my wife found it at one of our local comics shops and picked it up on a whim. It's definitely a cute series and a nice, light read 6y

I finished up book 6 about 2 am and about 15.5h into my #24in48. Exactly as thought-provoking as I expected and wanted. Following up now with something much quicker and much lighter to accompany breakfast.

Finally finished book 5 for my #24in48 after 13.5 total hours. Hopefully I've picked a faster read for book 6. It's definitely a heavier book.

25% into my #24in48 and well into what I'm now thinking of as my Dark Arc. Maybe I should pick a less demony book after this one, mix it up a little....

A favorite video game of mine, so I had to finally read the manga as book 2 of my #24in48. Next up is a book I picked up after meeting the author at a writing class at a local library.

Also, seriously, read this book.

Black Widow Forever Red | Margaret Stohl

Mehso-so

I couldn't completely get into this book. As a Natasha Romanova novel, I wasn't that into it. I didn't feel like it really nailed the Black Widow character. As a spy thriller novel, I didn't feel like it nailed the necessary pacing or the plot complexity, even for a YA book. And the writing for the action scenes didn't really describe scene or setting well enough to put me into the scene the way a cinematic action scene should.

My current physical TBR, not counting comics or my technical books. I WILL clear this out this year... somehow... maybe.

I enjoyed the first book despite a few issues, and I felt much the same about this sequel. There were definitely times I felt the story dragged a little, and I could point out a few other things that bothered me a little. Even so, this is one of the best Sherlock Holmes-inspired storylines I've seen out of the many that crossed my shelf in the past 18 months, and overall I quite enjoyed the book.

Out of all of the directly Holmes-inspired books @carol brought in last year, this might be my favorite. It's darker than I expected for a book she'd recommended, but I found it to be well written and one of the more original takes on the Sherlock Holmes genre.

I'm often the lame guy playing the paladin in the D&D group, so I'm a sucker for a good Superman or Captain America arc. This compilation is definitely dated in various ways, but if you're into the core conceit, I think it's worth a read.

I might be favorably biased toward books like this because I'm always looking for idea seeds for the campaign I'm running. This is exactly the type of book I need sometimes, something I can just steal and remix ideas from for my own world. It's probably best for people just starting a campaign or campaign arc, but if you're looking for deeper "monsters" in your campaign, this has some great starting points.

While not as hotly anticipated by me as a full Iron Druid book, I really enjoyed this light novella. Maybe even more per word than a full novel since Oberon and Atticus's conversations are usually my favorite part of the books.

I started in on this because of Archer's crossover appearances in Faith. I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed this weird mystical Armageddon Illuminati story that seems delightfully lacking in completely sane characters. I'm looking forward to picking up more, and I'm glad there are plenty more waiting already.

Now that I don't have to wrestle the iPad away from my wife, I can try out Litsy myself! Here's what happens when I get a week behind in comics (not counting the digital ones....).

Joe_Jones I haven't read any Wonder Woman in a really long time. I am really enjoying the Rebirth issues. 8y
Suzze Welcome! I don't read comics but my nephew (he's 46) reads one a day and posts a pic on Facebook. 8y
acktopus I've enjoyed pretty much all the Rebirth stuff I've tried so far - Hipster Batman/Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, Nightwing, and the Batgirl stuff, basically. I also have 10 or 11 Marvel issues stacked up, but I didn't have them in front of me. The past week has not been a good reading week for me - maybe I should try a one-a-day commitment just to make me set aside the time! 8y
