This series has grown on me. The main character annoys me, but I like the town and the police chief. I have a couple more out from the library that I‘ll probably get to soon.

This was okay. A little too heavy on mundane details that were unnecessary. The language felt a little stilted, too. Easy, light read.
Beautiful weather today for front porch reading!
Book 2 in the Cat in the Stacks mystery series that features librarian Charlie Harris and his cat Diesel, who seems to be a bit more intelligent than many of the people Charlie meets! In this book, Charlie is hired to inventory a rare book collection. Murder happens, and the remaining family squabble over the inheritance. Charlie‘s son is also back in town, and there‘s a few bridges to mend. I love that the MC is male and older….⬇️⬇️⬇️
Wealthy bibliophile James Delacorte asks Charlie Harris to help him catalogue his collection of first editions because he suspects somebody has been stealing valuable items.
The Delacorte family were fun to watch, and the book was generally more assured than the first one, confirming that this is a series to continue with.
I really enjoyed this! I loved Charlie‘s Maine Coon cat, Diesel, who pretty much goes everywhere with Charlie. Charlie‘s adult son also moved back him with his dog, so the critters were a lot of fun! Cont in comments...
So nice to be outside again after really cold temperatures for this area. Last Saturday it was 19 degrees; today it got up to 60. #audiowalk
