Up to 1.5 hrs for #deweysreadathon #deweyapril. Lots of non-reading things on my list today, so I won't get a very high time but it's always fun to do anyways.
I've been taking a bit of a break from audiobooks, so most of this cross stitch has been #audiostitching to podcasts and music. But readathons call for audiobooks so I started the tagged today and made a bit more progress.
I just can‘t seem to concentrate on just one book lately... These are all of the books I‘m currently reading (ok, that‘s kind of a lie because I‘m also reading My Favorite Thing is Monsters).
My goal is to have at least one of them finished before the weekend is over. 🤞
Candy Palmater was keynote speaker at the Rainbow Health Conference I'm attending! She was amazing!!! So powerful! (She's not in the database so I put this another amazing Indigenous queer woman) #queerbooks
My book haul from Birchbark Books yesterday! All Native and indigenous lit. I can't wait to dig into all of these!! 📖✊🏽

Beautiful, powerful, challenging, inventive. A collection of stories and songs/poems that are unlike anything I've ever read. This is a book to read and listen to again and again (it comes with free online access to musical / spoken word collaborations with musicians like Cris Derksen and A Tribe Called Red). Highly recommended. #NativeReads
"i've only ever seen you / hitchhiking into dreams / or running from the headlights / but today / here you are / just sleeping. sitting. eating. / hours of still / armfuls of nothing"
"I knew what every ndn knows: that vulnerability, forgiveness, and acceptance were privileges. she made the assumption of a white person: they were readily available to all like the fresh produce at the grocery store"

Today I am revisiting this powerful book written by my dear friend Leanne Simpson. She is of Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg ancestry and a member of Alderville First Nation. She is a fierce activist and a beautiful writer. #decolonize #nodapl #nativebooks #queerbooks
#IndigenousPeoplesDay -I'm reposting this wonderful book by a dear friend of mine. She's a wonderfully talented Anishnaabe writer and musician! I can't recommend this collection enough! #queerbooks #nativebooks #decolonize #diversebooks
#WWW Leanne Simpson is an extremely talented Anishinaabe writer and performer (and a dear friend of mine). Islands of Decolonial Love is a collection that's political, it's funny, it's heartbreaking and it's full of insight and lyrical prose. Bonus: I am mentioned in one story! 😉 I can't recommend her enough!! #Nativebooks #queerbooks. 💗
