This is my third time reading this first in the series, the second time on audio, and every time I read this, I find more things that bother me. I cannot stand Mel‘s mother. She‘s a horror - thank goodness my mother does not come to my house to make sure I‘m awake!

I do plan to continue to listen to the series - cupcakes for the win! - but I‘ll be interested to see how the characters develop.

I started this today because it was a bonus borrow on Hoopla last month. I tried another cozy a few months ago for similar reasons and enjoyed it. I bailed on this one after only 12 minutes because the explanations of everything from character descriptions to character relationships are just a bit too writer-y. There‘s also an emphasis on defining the characters by their high school identities as if it was the defining time of their lives somehow.

Just engaged in some impulse retail therapy because I got the call that they‘re not letting my husband come to the first baby appointment this week :(

Got a little library #bookhaul today - hoping one of these keeps my interest. I keep starting books and bailing halfway through even though I‘m enjoying them. Bonus #catsoflitsy Edie and Chloe in the background washing up after and finishing up dinner, respectively.

This is a reread for me although this time around I listened to it on audiobook. This series is definitely comfort reading for me which is what I need right now. I forgot to set a timer to keep track of my #25inFive readathon total hours.

1. As a lover of the cozy mystery genre I have to pick Jenn McKinlay's Cupcake Bakery series. I make sure I have cake around whenever I read that series!
2. Potatoes.
3. I don't like any seafood.
4. Thanksgiving. Potatoes, stuffing, and green bean casserole.
5. I don't have a favorite restaurant.

A fun cozy mystery that was the perfect accompaniment to two days of cookie baking. I started book 2 while baking today and will finish it and start book 3 when I decorate the cookies on Sunday.

I have to do a lot of baking today, so I'm going to set the mood with this cozy mystery audiobook set in a bakery 🍪

Such a cute cozy about a cupcake bakery. I really liked the fact that I didn't figure out who the killer was early on. This book kept me guessing.

Not the worst cozy mystery I've read, not the best. I just needed something quick and breezy, and this fit the bill and kept me entertained.
