When I realized what this was about, I wasn‘t that invested, but it was an easy read, and I really liked it.
Good twisty tale - kept me guessing until the end.
Book 18 2021 - I think ultimately this is a pick although it was almost a thumb sideways purely for the fact that I don‘t enjoy books as much when I find every single character unlikable. But in this story of abuse begetting abuse it was necessary. Another one ticked off #booked2021
Next up for #booked2021 #bookwithacolourinthetitle I hope Rose Gold counts? It‘s a colour I love (especially in jewelry 😁)
My first day of one month long vacation …. 😎🩴👙🍹⛱🛋🏄🏻♀️
I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.
This is day 204

These characters were crazy AF! A quick read.
I‘ve been working all day today 😒 and usually can‘t do audio at the same time, but today I was just ticking off numbers (exciting!) so I got to listen to this.
It‘s a really unusual thriller, telling the story of Rose Gold, whose mother was jailed for abusing her by faking her illnesses. Patty is now free to leave prison and why is Rose Gold so keen to get back to normal?
I didn‘t actually guess the ending, although perhaps it was a bit rushed.
This book has all the hallmarks of a pacy thriller, but I tell you what, it‘s refreshing to read one that doesn‘t revolve around dead bodies and bloodshed. It isn‘t a “whodunnit”, but a sinister cat-and-mouse game of power and control. MSBP is a relatively rare psychological condition, and as a premise for a thriller it‘s fresh and fascinating. Rose Golds mother Patty was sent to prison for poisoning her as a child. The book opens with Patty's release from prison, Rose Gold picks her up...
Patty's thought about this;
'Riddle me this: if I spent almost two decades abusing my daughter, why did she offer to pick me up today?'
Why indeed?...
I liked this book but unfortunately, for me, the ending felt rushed and a bit predictable.

Rose Gold‘s Mother goes to prison for poisoning her daughter...or did she??? This is such a great thriller that kept me guessing till the end. #poison #ChillingPhotoChallenge #teamstoker
Wow, this was a dark, compelling read!!
A mother, convicted of poisoning her own daughter, is released from prison. The daughter invites her to move in but has she really forgiven her...?!
This kept me hooked & guessing the whole time. Full of suspense, twists & turns, complex characters, a cracking plot. I really enjoyed this psychological thriller. #scarathlon #ScaryScavengerHunt (that‘s over 200 pages) #teamstoker
