Just popping in to say that this book was first published in 1997 and in the ensuing 25 years nobody appears to have pointed out that Flash Gordon was not a member of the Justice League.

so-so

Newly translated into English, this is a coming-of-age/sexual awakening of a woman who has the self-proclaimed obsession with the written word. Set in the Philippines, against the back drop of political unrest, it‘s a stream of consciousness rambling narrative of family stories, musings on literature, and her sexual encounters. The writing is fabulous in places, perceptive and witty, but for some reason it just didn‘t add to the sum of its parts.

janeycanuck @merelybookish I go through fits & spurts where I‘ll do five or six in a month and then not touch one for a while.BI have never tackled anything over 1000 pieces but the 2000-piecer has been in my puzzle cupboard for years……… 2y

merelybookish @janeycanuck I did a 2000 piece last year and it was ok. The challenge was space more than anything, having room for the puzzle and the pieces. I don't think I'd do 3000 again. It was too overwhelming! 2y
