This is the second Gunnie Rose book and while it was pretty good, I didn‘t enjoy it as much as the first. It takes place predominantly in a very racist town, reminiscent of the Jim Crow South, and it is next to impossible to like any of the non-recurring characters. Still, it‘s good enough to keep my brain engaged, even if I‘ll remember very little of it by tomorrow.
