Nothing to add here!!!

Sace This book has been sitting on my shelf since 2016. I'm so bad about putting serious books on the TBR then choosing to read fluff instead. 4y

This entire section of this book is very finely argued. The author makes some really important points and relates them with the history of this religion. It was interesting to view this debate with historical references and made me look upon my own personal biases.

My first non fiction of the year and I chose a heavy subject. I am pretty sure that most of it is going to go over my head but I am going to stay with.

Thanks so much for this opportunity.

This was a TOUGH one, but I finally chose this one.

Megabooks Awesome! I took Islamic Civilization in college before 9/11. It was great! (I also studied Arabic for 3 semesters.) 😃😃👍🏻 7y

I learned so much from reading this book. Even though it was loaded with information and perspective, I never got bogged down while reading it. I do think, though, that a reread would allow me to gain more from the text. This is an excellent resource for someone interested in learning more about Islam.

I'm eager to learn more about Islam. I read Aslan's Zealot and I'm sure this will be just as meticulously researched.

I really enjoyed this informative and accessible book. I learned so much—Aslan brings to life the intricate, sprawling history of Islam and expands on its current varieties as well as how it exists and relates in the world, including in the US in this century. A fascinating and illuminating book.

This was an incredibly informative and accessible book, and a very important one, too. I think everyone ought to read it, especially if they look at the subtitle and have a negative reaction. I'm grateful for the knowledge Aslan imparts, and the beauty he does it with. Smart, honest, positive. Love!

Sacred history is like a hallowed tree whose roots dig deep into primordial time and whose branches weave in and out of genuine history with little concern for the boundaries of space and time.
