"It's a local legend. No one is sure if this "Camp Slaughter" place is real or not. But a group of college kids renting out a cabin deep in the woods of Pennsylvania will soon realize the truth. They'll realize the danger, too. Or rather, the cannibal out in the woods will bring the danger to them...

It‘s exactly what you would expect from a slasher read: a group of college kids, a creepy isolated cabin, & a cannibal killer nearby. Mayhem ensues.

OutsmartYourShelf Obviously don't read this if you are of a sensitive disposition, there's a lot of killing going on. Heads & legs chopped off, spines broken, that kind of thing. The beginning is very much like the start of a particularly scary Criminal Minds episode (& I love CM) so it grabbed my attention straight away. It's a quick read but brutal in parts. 3.5🌟

booklover3258 It was a great book. I'm going to order the next one eventually because our library doesn't have the sequel. 6mo
willaful @CBee I know, staying far away from this one! 6mo
OutsmartYourShelf @CBee It‘s not my usual type of read tbh, I‘m more into crime fiction rather than horror. 6mo
OutsmartYourShelf @booklover3258 I may read the next one in Oct especially if Scarathlon is happening this year. 6mo

They do not make enough slasher books, I love slasher movies, so this was right up my alley! And I really liked it. I thought it was creepy and menacing. I am taking a star off because there was way too many characters to keep track of, and also you didn't really get to know enough about the characters to care about when they started to die. But it is a very fast paced fun slasher! 4/5

This book might make a good horror movie but there wasn't enough there to make it a good book. A bunch of college kids rent a cabin in the woods and then it kind of turns into a cross between Friday the 13th and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And yet I still didn't like it 😾

TheSpineView Disappointing 😒 3y
TheAromaofBooks It's weird how sometimes a book seems to have all the right elements, yet just doesn't connect! 3y
