I thought this steampunk-like adventure with mystery and romance was a lot of fun. The characters have great banter and there is a good amount of cheekiness. There is supposed to be a second book in the future and I would pick it up too. #Booked2023 #GaslampFantasy

A Victorian British aristocrat who (while secretly an inventor and military arms dealer) is in desperate need of a husband so as to keep her fortune teams up with a slightly bumbling American cowboy-esque spy to locate 3 missing scientists kidnapped from a ball, & prevent a lethal weapon from falling into the hands of the enemy. This was a good enough read. I think there are stronger examples of the steampunk genre but it was entertaining enough.

Lots of fun. Witty banter. A heroine who takes no nonsense. A hero who has flaws like reading in public, or wearing a Stetson. 😁

I did something really stupid last week Thursday. The stupid thing? I walked from my desk to the kitchen. Well, that's what I intended to do. I fell flat on my face on the way. Have lovely bruises on forearms, knees, shins.
Anyway, my physiotherapist thinks taping with kinesiology tape might help with the foot drop. (yes, @GingerAntics it matches my hair)

I've decided, not walking around might be the best solution. 😏

GingerAntics Ouch! It‘s still illegal to pull one of the children out of school and make them your servant? Make them carry you around and get things for you, so you can avoid walking. GingerAntics Because blue things are awesome and they find the awesome people!!! There are valuable life lessons in helping, though. Stupid school. 3y

julesG @Megabooks Thanks! I have foot drop due to multiple sclerosis. I have several torture devices that I can wear or add to my footwear, in addition to having to wear compression stockings (like an old lady). I have eliminated possible sources of accidents (rugs, etc). It's all helping to a certain extent. And then there is that one day every few months when my fatigue is kicking in, I'm not paying enough attention and fall over my own feet. 3y

julesG @Megabooks At the moment, the best course of action is trying to strengthen my core muscles. Because that might help with balance. 😐 I'm a work in progress. 😉 3y
