My sweet family celebrated valentines today and it was warming for my heart. Dear husband picked this book out for me and it looks like wonderful.

Enthusiastically recommend this mystery set in 18th century England and featuring a woman determined to identify the plants she‘s collected abroad, using the fabled curiosity cabinets of obsessive collector Barnaby Mayne. When Mayne is murdered during a house tour, Cecily joins forces with childhood friend and illustrator (and badass!) Maecan to find the real murderer and save an innocent man from the gallows. The audiobook is terrific too.
#Truth - “The obsessed see what they wish to see, especially when led by a guide who makes deliberate use of their fascinations.” (Page 330)
@BookishMarginalia is moments away from finishing tagged book. Not quite #MetaLitsy , but I‘m sure she‘ll post about it soon.
Breakfast before school. Every day right now is so long!
I have been getting so much audiobook listening done this week (not as much reading as I‘d hoped but still)! This was a solid, old fashioned sort of mystery. I will say it was kind of hard to keep up with all the players when listening to the audiobook. Still enjoyable! 🌟🌟🌟🌟+16 points for #teamslaughter (I‘ll calculate reading points for the weekly checkin). #scarathlon2020
This reminded me so much of Agatha Christie! A nice historic mystery! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ full review at http://scrappymags.com/2020/07/31/4-5-stars-the-cabinets-ot-barnaby-mayne-by-els...
I love being part of the #minotaurinfluencers team & I‘m so excited about the new ARCs I received from Minotaur Books! I can‘t wait to read these physical copies of The Finders by Jeffrey B. Burton and The Cabinets of Barnaby Mayne by Elsa Hart, along with the ebooks they sent me of The Split by Sharon Bolton and Hard Cash Valley by Brian Panowich.
I love the covers on both of these! Which one do you like the best?
