Harley Quinn: Mad Love
Harley Quinn: Mad Love | Paul Dini, Pat Cadigan
11 posts | 13 read | 9 to read
The definitive story of Harley Quinn by her co-creator, Paul Dini, and Pat Cadigan, revealing the secrets of her history even as she seeks to kill Batman. Dr. Harleen Quinzel grew up in an abusive household with a criminal and became a psychologist to deal with her own broken family. At Arkham Asylum, she attempted to treat the Joker and instead fell hopelessly in love with him, helping him escape and becoming a member of his organization. Quinzel became Harley Quinn, a bizarre contradiction of violence and mercy. She blames Batman for her inability to maintain a stable relationship with the arch-villain, and that causes her to have an abiding hatred for the hero, who she seeks to kill. Upon capture she becomes a violent inmate at Belle Reve Penitentiary, and is assigned to the group of government-maintained super villains known as the Suicide Squad. Copyright 2017 DC Comics. Heyya Puddins! Harley here to give you a weekly update. I haven't been able to find Mr. J anywhere. I am in this weird place with these strange people. All they do is play a thing called an xbox one and read things called books. There is this little one that reminds me of a younger Mr. J with all his hell raising he does. So that's a happy sight. But I really miss my partner in crime. That's it for now. Harley out!

After these last few reads left me in my thoughts on different levels, I decided to go a tad lighter for my next pick.

I‘d been rewatching Birds of Prey in between reads to clear my head so this seemed like the obvious choice 😊 ❤️🖤

Harley Quinn is one of my favourite characters, so when I heard there was a book about her, I knew I had to read it. This book was so good and detailed, and makes you question if she is actually doing good or bad. The story explains her origin well, and the character development is phenomenal!
I totally reccomend for any fan, or if you want a book that's smart, action packed, and slightly insane...

An entertaining novelization of Harley Quinn's backstory. This story features Dr. Harleen Quinzel (pre-Harley) along with the Joker, Batman, Poison Ivy and other Gotham favorites. I would love a sequel that focuses on Harley and Poison Ivy's relationship. I always thought that was more interesting than her relationship with the Joker. ♦️♣️💋🃏

Learning Harley Quinns back story in this book was a great experience for anyone who loves Harley and her relationship with the King Clown crime villian himself Mr. J. At points, I felt like Harley was more involved then she really would have been and not been as quickly drug into the life and charm that is Puddin'. I loved the ending I really feel like Harley was coming into her own and it left me wanting to watch what she would get into next.

My one resolution was to not buy any more books until I get through my TBR shelves and NetGalley ARC‘s. That ended the moment I saw this book at Barnes and Noble! ♦️♣️🃏💋

Can you enjoy reading about a toxic relationship? I really enjoyed reading about Harley's early years. Overall it was a good read.
