this graphic novel is a collection of stories all about the real lived experiences of people dealing with sexual assault, it isn't very long but it does tell you a whole lot about r*pe culture and how it silences and shames those who have done nothing wrong and allows those who have done wrong to do as they please. 5/5.

I love to recommend the above books and books like them, because they draw attention to a very important subject: sexism and sexual assaults. Granted, it isn‘t the most fun og happy subject, but it is a subject I think a lot of people could benefit from learning more about.

In little stories or vignettes we are told different experiences with sexism, sexual assault and rape. It breaks my heart every time I read it, but it is a powerful and necessary book.

Victim blaming, sexual assault and rape culture are some of the subjects/themes that #drivemecrazy - crazy in the this-make-me-so-angry-I-want-to-scream-way. These three books deal with the themes in different ways, and I would recommend all of them (which I've done before, but I can never rave about these enough)
On a different note, I am so happy to be doing the photo challenges again. I hadn't realised how much I missed them!

These books all tell a hard #truth about sexual assualt and it doesn't matter that some of the books are fictional. These books have all made me so angry, sad and intent on doing something!

pickI can't give stars on this one- it's not a book that should be rated.
This is a short graphic, but NOT a novel- it describes real life accounts of sexual abuse- the abuse came from people of similar age to the victims. And it made me angry, but also made me realize that I need to listen and pay attention. A necessary read for anyone who has hit adolescence.

One of the #politicalfiction books that comes to mind is this graphic novel. The art is powerful, and the stories even more so. Sexual violence and harassment are never okay.

pickThis might seem like an odd choice for an #inspiring book. But the stories in this graphic novel about everyday and not so everyday sexism and sexual abuse really did something to me and my attitudes about sexism. So much in fact that I am planning on writing my Master thesis on the subject of victim blaming.
This book is a both great and scary, and I would recommend it to everyone.

pickTW: Sexual violence survivors' stories. The artwork is fantastic. Each story has a different style and panel layout. However, the color palette is fairly consistent (lots of purple and dark blue) which seems to connect everything. Only critique is the lack of explicitly queer and trans content.
