Points: 15 (TBR) + 1 (post) + 60 (readathon) = 76 points.

This one had good atmosphere and a sinister plot, characters you could sympathize with and a creepy setting, but it wasn‘t quite as spooky as I was hoping for. Still, a solid read and I‘d definitely be open to checking out more by this author.

A horror story about haunted house with a century old mystery & I quite enjoyed it. If you'd like to try this genre, this is the book for you! It's light, spooky and definitely not lacking in suspense!

I love a good haunted house story. This does include a haunting but it is about much more than that. Recently widowed author Daniel and his daughter Caitlyn move to a new home. Amongst other things he is haunted by the loss of his wife. There is a mystery from the past tied in with journal entries from more than 100 years ago. It has some creepy elements but not horror in my opinion.Thank you to NetGalley, Steve Frech, and HQ Digital for the arc.
