This was my favorite from the series as a kid. As an adult I am confused as to why someone would let their 4 year old go sailing with an 8th grader.

LiteraryinLawrence Oh my gosh, I used to love this one! But yes, what a good point. I remember when I got to be 11, the age of the junior babysitters, I was disappointed because I didn‘t feel at all responsible or grown up! 4y
Megabooks Same. I loved this one!! What the heck were the parents thinking!! 4y
riversong153 Ahhh the beauty of fiction! Lol 4y

On the first episode of MANUARY on my podcast, I welcome Jack and Tanner from the Baby-Sitters Club Club (so, yeah, they‘re basically BSC aficionados) to talk about Super Special No. 4: Baby-Sitters Island Adventure. This book is utterly amazing and ridiculous and our LOL-worthy conversation reflects it. Jack and Tanner also argue worst babysitter and best book in the series. Click the link in my bio to listen! 🎧

Fave bookish friendships? The BSC of course! Thirteen years old before helicopter parenting = fun adventures, like this one where they're swept out to sea with a sick 4 year old! And I get a chance to read them again on my Kindle. Not the same, but I'll take it! 😉👍🏻 #augustphotochallenge #augustofpages #favebookishfriendships

DVGessner I just discovered yesterday that there is a Babysitters Club podcast! They read and discuss each book in order! 8y
TheSpinecrackersBookClub Yes! Yes! Yes! 8y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @DVGess! Reallllly?! That's somewhat exciting! Is it on iTunes? 8y

thegirlwiththelibrarybag I've not read this special! The BSC books used to be book drug of choice ☺️👌 8y
Megabooks @thegirlwiththelibrarybag I don't know about iTunes. I don't have an iPad and my phone is small. I only read on my kindle. The BSC rules! 8y
Megabooks @DVGess That is so cool! What's the name? 8y
DVGessner @thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Ebooksandcooks It's called The Baby-Sitters Club Club. I think they're up to book 32. I'm new to podcasts so I don't know if it's on iTunes but I just found it on the Podcast app on my phone. 8y
DVGessner I haven't tried it yet, it might be terrible 😃 8y

Hello! Book 4 of the #24in48 #readathon is definitely 5🌟 All the chilling, heart-pounding adventure I remember! Claudia, Dawn, and 4 kids on a deserted island. Will they survive? No seriously, this book is still awesome, and I'm so glad I have a second chance to own it on Kindle. Almost halfway to 24, and I'm going to try to get some 💤💤💤, but I'm not very sleepy. Night all!

angrylilasian I loved these!!! 8y
NovelGirl82 I loved them!!!! I feel like I'm reading slowly!! I hit the 12 hour mark, and only got through #3!! 8y
Carol I loved BSC! Especially the mysteries. 8y
DiruVamp Wow bringing back the memories! 8y

Ok, since #FunFridayPhoto, I've wanted to re-read this BSC Classic! What better time than late into the #24in48 #readathon night! Also, I don't think they teach cursive anymore. I can barely read this! #21stcenturyproblems

LizGotauco Which babysitter are you, @Ebooksandcooks ? As a teen I was definitely a Mary Anne, but I like to think that with time I found some of my inner Claudia. 8y
Megabooks Having trouble tagging you Elizabeth! I was Claudia growing up, but I'm more Mary Ann as an adult. Funny that were opposites! 8y
Megabooks Also 13 year olds sailing with a 4 year old six miles into Long Island Sound? Can we say the opposite of helicopter parenting?? 8y
Melissa_D Ha, ha. I loved the Super Specials!! 8y

#FunFridayPhoto I was obsessed with the BSC, but my parents sold my entire series when I was in college!!! (I know, I was so upset.) Anyway, this one was always my favorite. I wanted to get stranded on a deserted island with the BSC! I bought it on Kindle, but I still miss my old, worn copy. 😥

Reviewsbylola ❤️ BSC. I posted about them today too! I am almost positive my parents got rid of all my books too. I will have to see if I can find a couple eventually to see what my daughters think of them when they are older. 8y
Megabooks @Reviewsbylola Which one did you most relate to? For me, it was Claudia. I loved the art and the way she dressed! 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 I saved all my daughter's books and then when they bought a house, I showed up with them and told her 'here's enough to fill a couple of shelves of a bookcase'. She's sharing them with her niece now. 😍 8y

bookishkai We used to trade them around in school in 4th grade. Of the originals I was most like Mary Ann, but I loved the additions of Jessi and Mallory later. 8y
Megabooks @kaysreadinglife yay! I love passing things down. 👍🏻😃 8y
Megabooks @bookishkris I would never trade mine. Only child. Not good at sharing 😉 I loved when Mary Ann and Dawn found the secret passage! 8y
