The Girls in the Snow
The Girls in the Snow: A completely unputdownable crime thriller | Stacy Green
13 posts | 4 read | 5 to read
Madison walked through the fallen snow, looking left and right. It had been Kaylees idea to use the trail through the forest; she said no one would follow them. But Madison lost sight of Kaylee for a moment and when she found her again she wasnt alone In the remote forests of Stillwater, Minnesota, you can scream for days and no one will hear you. So when the bodies of two fifteen-year-old girls are discovered frozen in the snow, Special Agent Nikki Hunt is sure the killer is local: someone knew where to hide them and thought they'd never be found. Home for the first time in twenty years, Nikki sees that the whole town had been frantically searching for missing best friends Madison and Kaylee, and when she finds out who Madisons step-father is, she becomes desperate to lead the case. John was once the person she trusted most in the world, who stood by her when she was just sixteen and her parents were murdered. Who supported her when she identified their killer, Mark Todd. But when Nikki arrives at the Sheriffs office, shes confronted by protesters eager to see Mark freed. With new evidence that could clear his name, Mark has appealed his conviction and his brother Rory begs Nikki to take a look at what theyve found. Nikki knows she must focus on the killer at large, but Rory makes her wonder if she put her trust in the right people all those years ago. Are Madison and Kaylees deaths connected to her parents murders? And can she face up to her past before another life is taken? Gripping and spine-chilling, The Girls in the Snow will make you gasp, unable to put it down until the final heart-pounding twist. Perfect for fans of Karin Slaughter, Lisa Gardner and Robert Dugoni. Think I‘m going to have to read the rest of the series. I wasn‘t sure I was going to like this series but it slowly got under my skin and I had to know who did it. Like that it was female lead but not sure how I feel about Rory just being so nice. I‘d think there would be an ulterior motive.

Finished my second book for the #AugustARC Readathon.
Really enjoyed this book. Nikki is a great character and is pulled back to her home town to investigate two murders, where her parents were murdered 20 years before. At the same time questions are being asked about the voracity of the conviction related to that case. Could they be connected?
This moved along at pace with plenty of twists and turns. Will definitely continue the series.

Read4life I agree. I‘m going to read more Nikki Hunt, too. 2y

This was my #DoubleSpin & a #Roll100 read for me. I enjoyed the writing and the characters. There were a few storylines going through this one. I will read another Stacy Green book.

PuddleJumper That's great! 2y
TheAromaofBooks Yay!! What's the ReadMyRoom challenge? I'm not sure I'm familiar with that one! 2y
Read4life @TheAromaofBooks #ReadMyRoom is hosted by @AkashaVampie & basically you read physical books you own to clear off shelf space. It‘s super low key but it‘s helped me read through my TBR more than I otherwise would have. 2y

#TheGirlsInTheSnow #StacyGreen

Stacy Green‘s debut novel for Nikki Hunt series. One POV (Nikki). 2 plot lines (find serial killer & find out who really killed her parents 20 y ago). Fast-paced with lots of twists & turns. Keeps you guessing all the way. Characters were well-developed. Story is very engaging. Looking forward to the 2nd book in the series. Thanks to Bookouture & NetGalley for free copy. Recommended to mystery thriller lovers.
