I immediately thought of the hammock on the cover of this book for #HammockDay I read part of it years ago when it came out but I don‘t think I ever finished it.

279 pages. It is a conditional pick. I loved the part about delegating or eliminating. As a new team leader, I had trouble to say "no" to things, and at some point I found myself working 50 hours a week and accomplishing only minor things. The book helped me to sort out the priorities and get my life back but I felt that some of things Tim has done are on the edge of being non-ethical.

It‘s terrible. It‘s something that only sounds good. My main point is not that every step Ferris illustrates sounds like far more work than 4 hours – even if that‘s how it seems to be. His are ideas only suitable for certain branches, I think.

My main issue is that I think what he suggests is exploitation of labour. Everything is outsourced for small money.

That‘s not the way I want to live in this world.

I made fun of this book, and the rest of the 4 hour series, before I read them. I can say the principles I learned from these books have simplified my life and made it more efficient and productive; they apply to almost anything. This is a life-improving book. At times Ferriss uses jargon and can be hard to follow, but this is a book I recommend to anyone who will listen.

July 28, 2020 Just started this one. Trying to learn how I can be successfully rich. The main question that Timothy Ferris tried to answer in the book is: "How can one achieve the millionaire lifestyle of complete freedom without first having $1,000,000? WE WILL FIND OUT FOLKS. Once I finish the book i will obviously share my thoughts and opinions of what i read based on what he wrote.

It rained absolute buckets yesterday, but today we woke up to the first snow of the year. Just a dusting. Now I'm sipping my tea and birdwatching #audiobirdwatching?

I've been so busy the past few weeks that I still have ~10 hrs left in this audiobook that's due in 2 days. Challenge accepted!

A very fun read. Hopefully I‘ll think up of something to help make a good passive income while I gain a boatload of free time or as income whenever I feel bored of my career choice and need a brake for 2-3 months

Totally not applicable to my situation (I‘m a full time physician), but I do appreciate that if I get bored I can try this whenever I choose to get into business and merchandising.

Really enjoyed this one. Great tips on how to work remotely having a day job. The book aims to change the paradigm on retirement, work, money making opportunities online and more. The author shares many useful tips to help your management of day to day activities. Highly recommended.

2.5 stars simply because I do think there is a lot to be said for the idea of not saving all your life for when you are done working, and this could help some people to do that or motivate them to think about what can be lived without and what they really want from life. However, this is full of impractical, sometimes skirting the edges of ethical, advice, and Ferris, for all of his talk about how this isn‘t about money, is all about money. Meh.

Still reading in the middle. I personally find it is abit difficult to relate to my real life. Anyone has any special tips after reading this book?

I listened to this #audiobook on a whim. While there are some useful, basic ideas about time management and goal setting, I had the overall feeling that the author is a “salesman type” who could package and sell pretty much anything—including books about a 4-hour work week and a certain image of himself. Something about it all made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Great book if you want to hear how another bro figured out how to game the system by passing his workload to low-paid assistants. I will admit that there are are a few few good nuggets about prioritizing where we spend our time and not waiting until retirement to start living life.

Interminably long, though. And I was immediately turned off by the idea that books (except for this one) are a waste of time. Uh, okay, dude.

Since this is an older book, a few sites and recommended technology is simply outdated. I think this is a thought provoking book if you are looking to quit your current job and/or work remotely. There were some good sections on communication and time management. Living oversees and working remotely has some downsides that I learned recently and the author did describe potential downsides but I just feel there was something missing.

This is NOT me at the moment! I went back to work this week and I am exhausted! No time to read but I am lovingly caressing Elizabeth George's new book.

There are some good ideas to be more productive and it helps to break down what‘s more important in your career so you know where to put more focus.

You guys, I just want to read my books and nap. Is this 4-hr workweek a real thing?

Feeling super sorry for myself as I have the worst headache, gone to bed having a listen to this...

I'm not a huge Tim Ferriss fan but there's some good stuff in here. There's also a lot of resources and bonus material you can skim or skip over. So despite its 400+ pages, this is a relatively quick read with some interesting real-like examples of how people successfully reduced their work hours while increasing income. I'm self employed and this got me thinking about hiring a virtual assistant to do research so we'll see how that works out. 😊

10% in. I agree with a lot of what he's saying. Work smarter, not longer hours. Create a life you don't feel the need to escape from. But I don't agree with some of his methods. Winning a gold medal in kickboxing because he figured out he could legally push his opponents off the mat? That shows zero actual skill. What's the value of obtaining a medal through a technicality if you don't have any actual skill in the sport?

Special Sunday delivery! Another nutrition book, because clearly I don't have enough, and the classic Tim Ferriss self-help book that I still haven't read. I was tempted to buy both of these at the bookstore last week but I waited and ordered them on Amazon and had enough points to get them practically free. 🙌🏼

Doing something unimportant well doesn't make it important. Tim Ferriss

Being busy is most often used as a guise for avoiding the few critically important but uncomfortable actions.

Probably not the best thing to approve for publishing, in retrospect.
