An excellent thriller that kept me guessing and has a satisfying, surprise ending.

This is the first book in the authors series about Detective Vega. I wanted to read this first before diving into the most recent book. It was a good read and I like the character, Detective Annalise Vega. A few good twists as she hunts for a serial killer and a satisfying ending and good lead into the next book.

First book in a new series introducing Detective Annalisa Vega I enjoyed the read, but I‘ll reserve judgement about this new lead character until another book is available. She didn‘t seem fully fleshed out here, defined more through interactions with others than as an individual. The plot: after a hiatus of 20 years, a serial killer has apparently returned. A woman has been killed with the same horrible MO, and now he‘s stalking Detective Vega.

No spoilers, but I liked that even after the “solution” Detective Vega realized something was off and kept digging. What a decision to make and her choice really speaks to her character. Gritty but not too graphic. Can see continuing this series. After this case, her future won‘t be easy.

This was a great book featuring detective Annalisa Vega. I‘m glad it‘s going to be a series. She investigates a recent killing that looks like the Lovelorn Killer is back, someone who killed someone close to Vega when she was younger. There‘s the perfect balance of character development and mystery/suspense. I was genuinely surprised with the end and eager to see how the fallout from the end impacts Vega in future installments. I recommend!

I loved this book. The mystery, the characters, the twists and even the bit of romance all worked together to make for an excellent read. This is the first book in a new series and I cannot wait for the next one. I gave it 5/5 stars.

Really enjoyed this one. Set in Chicago, old serial killer, internet crime solvers & a Chicago police detective from an old CPD family. Apparently just what I wanted to read & about 180 degrees from the book I read just before it.

This is the first in a new series for Schaffhausen and there was a lot of thrills and twists! I really liked Annalise Vega, the mc detective who's working with her ex husband and investigating the serial killer that killer her first love's mom. I don't know where this series is going, but I'm here for it!

I was so invested in Gone For Good, I gasped and covered my mouth more than once, quietly whispered a distressed “no” a few times, and grabbed my husband‘s arm for support as the intensity revved up toward the end.
