Pink flamingo day!
ANCHORED HEARTS is a cute romance, with family dynamics, food, and Cuban culture. For me, the second chance romance fell flat, But, I enjoyed the family unit, it was funny watching the mamis and their antics at pulling the strings with their children. The family dynamics awesome just like in the first book as well. I did not enjoy Anchored Hearts as much as Island Affair, but it was a enjoyable quick beach read.
Not as good as the first in the series. I was bored half way through. ⭐️⭐️
My February #bookspin list, accompanied by the book @TheAromaofBooks sent me as a 2021 #bookspin prize winner which just arrived. Thank you Sarah ❤️ I‘m excited to read this one!
Anyway, my February list leans heavily towards #swoonathon romance and #blitsy reads off my shelves for Black History Month, along with spots for #roll100 and my continued reread of the Hollows series.
I really expected to love this one, so I'm super disappointed that I didn't. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't very good either. It felt like it was dragging on a bit at around the 75% mark, and I could feel my desire to read this drop
Finished this last night. I loved this book. A second chance romance but it wasn't completely a romance. There was a lot of family dynamics involved within these two Cuban cultures who are living in Key West and for Anamaria and Alejandro each making a different decision that ends their relationship. They each blame the other at first. But they still love each other. 👇
This one was pretty cute & just the kind of relaxing read I need during a chaotic week!! There were times where the drama between Ale & his dad dragged out a little, but I loved how it all came together in the end. Fun & fluffy.

#WeeklyForecast - didn't make it to the library this week, so maybe I will actually get to Led Zeppelin before it gets ditched again?? 😂 Also interested to finally try the Hillerman mysteries, which have also been lurking on this shelf for far longer than they deserve. Should wrap up my Norway guide this week - I have another book about this beautiful country waiting in the wings that has loads of photos, so I'm stoked to get to it. @Cinfhen
I was enchanted by the synopsis and excerpt I read on BookishFirst. And the book did not disappoint! This is a sweet second-chance romance story. I enjoyed reading about the Cuban-American family dynamic. And I felt the characters and plot were realistic.
If you enjoy Jasmine Guillory or Abby Jimenez, then definitely check out Priscilla Oliveras.
This is my May #doublespin book & also one for #integrateyourshelf
If you're looking for a happy chick lit romance, this might be exactly the right book. It's exactly what you would expect from this genre. Which obviously has its own appeal. It's engaging and entertaining and you know before you even start reading that there will be a happy ending.

There seems to be a happy yellow theme happening here. Maybe I should slow down on the coffee.

I love the idea of #ownvoices romances, and I think they are the best kind! I love the infusion of Spanish words and phrases into the dialogue. It made the book so authentic, and I loved to see Hispanic main characters written by a Hispanic author. It's so underrepresented in every genre, not just romance so I was so excited to read this book! Overall, I thought it was a very good book and romance, but I just didn't enjoy it personally.
Today‘s #bookhaul!
