Where else would I be on my birthday?
Where else would I be on my birthday?
Some #bookmail from the other day, since I‘m finally sitting down to post all of my updates.. 😬
I had to take many of these poems in small doses but I was moving along enjoying them and then we got to some adultery which is hard for me to stomach or empathize with and then this #poetry collection was ruined a little for me. Overall, good collection but I‘d rather not read about someone feeling sorry for themselves being the other woman.

Samantha King has bleed all over these pages. And I bleed with her 🖤My soulmate, @DimeryRene read this when she needed it the most and I have slowly and surely been making my way through it too. 🖤
Raw, relatable poetry both celebrates love and mourns the human “curse to feel.” Its about love—the good, the bad, and the confusing and when emotions are involved it‘s not as black and white and written in a way that pulls you in and makes you feel and about falling in love, bad decisions, and ultimately growth. The essence of it all is to show that no matter how far one falls all the mistakes don‘t have to be what defines them.
#TBRtemptation post 3! Great cover. This collection is about love--the good, the bad, the confusing; the build-up and the crashing; the yearning and the passion. She talks about morals, how emotions gray absolutes, and regrowth from bad decisions. Our mistakes don't need to define us in permanence. She writes in a bare verse style. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
Happy Valentine's Day ❤
"To say I miss you would be an understatement
To confess every waking moment
I'm thinking about you
Would be nothing short of truth
I must apologize because the very thing I took for granted
Is what I yearn for most now, your presence
I desire your touch, your kiss,
or even just to hear you say those beautiful three words
I didn't appreciate everything we were and now
It's all I want"
REALITY CHECK
-----------------
"You were merely my creation
A testament to my inability to accept the truth
I ignored the bruises
In my mind there was painted an amazing picture
Of a man you never manifested to be
All that's left of you now are the scars on me." ?
PROGRESS
So often we are defined by what we've done
And the mistakes we've made
For once I would like to be
Measured by the steps I took today
Rather than the footprints of yesterday. 👣👣
Initially I was quite excited to read Samantha King's debut poetry collection Born to Love, Cursed to Feel. Almost as soon as I began reading, however, I felt quite underwhelmed & had to push myself to keep reading.
Overall I found this to be a quick & fairly enjoyable read - and while there were a few poems that I particularly liked, I found that I just skimmed through the majority of them
