Wow! What a beautiful book! This totally lived up to the hype! It‘s a story in verse which made it all the more special! This is my first Jacqueline Woodson but I doubt it will be the last! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me! So moving and full of heart! Highly recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars! I was so excited for this one and I think it really delivered! I like the way the author approached the Anna Anderson/Anastasia story! Pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it!

Jerdencon Just requested this from the library! 6y
Reviewsbylola It was a cool way to tell the story for sure. 6y
raelaschoenherr Just finished it last night! I‘m curious...how do you think Anna learned so many insider details about the Romanovs? And how did she know she looked like her? 6y
See All 8 Comments
raelaschoenherr @Reviewsbylola Did you finish too?? I‘d be interested in your thoughts on my spoiler questions! 6y
Reviewsbylola I‘ve ALWAYS wondered that. I‘ve been intrigued by Anna Anderson since high school when I read the tagged book. I was convinced Anna Anderson was Anastasia for that very reason, as did the author, so when the DNA results came back and it wasn‘t her (which was in the epilogue) I was completely blown away. 6y
Reviewsbylola I just added this book to my TBR. It‘s older I think and I‘d never heard of it but it supposedly goes into how Franziska pulled it off. 6y
anrobe @raelaschoenherr @Reviewsbylola I finished it and loved it. I also wonder how she had so many details. I think she may have fell into the idea by accident and that she did a ton of research maybe? I don‘t know. Her insider knowledge seems unreal! I also really wanted it to be that Anna was actually Anastasia. 6y
raelaschoenherr @Reviewsbylola @anrobe Those are good recs! The author suggested the Kurth one, but I think the other one will have the answers I‘m most curious about :) She also recommended the tagged book as her favorite reference on Anastasia‘s story 6y

Red Clocks: A Novel | Leni Zumas
post image
Pickpick

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This novel is not for everyone. A dystopian story about the lives of women after the government has changed laws about abortion, adoption and more. Told in varying perspectives (in an almost experimental way), it was challenging to get connected with the story at first but once I did, I got quite a bit out of this book. I‘ve seen a lot of mixed reviews which I totally understand now that I have read it! But, for me, I liked this one!

Reviewsbylola I‘ve been nervous to try this one! 6y

Enneagram Made Easy | Renee Baron

I‘m a bit obsessed with the Ennneagram at the moment. Here is my current stack and I just bought another one at the local indie! I‘m a 9, through and through. Do any of you know your enneagram number?

RiotMom I do! I‘m a six. We were just talking about this in my girl gang group chat. I‘m less familiar with this one than I am with the MBTI, but it‘s always fascinating to me! 6y
Quasifesto Admittedly, I place no stock in these “tests” but always read my fortune cookie, regardless. I‘m a 5. 6y
Bklover I know mine! I‘m a 5! My son in law has the bottom book in your stack and we talk enneagram frequently. 6y

This is not a book for the faint at heart. This is an intense and disturbing read. Although I liked it, there are some issues with it for me - most of which come from having a man write about a girls perspective with sexual violence. It‘s tricky ... very tricky. All in all, I‘m glad I read it but it‘s not for everyone. If you like dark and don‘t mind violence, you may want to try this one. But, be warned, it‘s a tough read!

AceOnRoam I have it out on loan at the moment. Thanks for the warning. 7y
