Amazing that this popped up on a day that I was feeling a retail therapy itch 😜

I also found out that some (everyone not blood related to me, apparently) people were amazed that Uno had a scoring system… anyway!
Excited to be using my Ken Done uno deck (a birthday present) for the first time. They are so pretty!
Summer collection, 1988
“When I was young, I had a longing to experience the stories of Gauguin in Tahiti. When I first visited Tahiti, it was in a monsoonal tropical downpour. I think I may have been thirty years too late.” Ken Done
I‘m so sad that we are no longer in the era of Ken Done being translated onto fabrics… because either of these would make such a good dress!
“If you attempt to make a photographic image of what it looks like underwater, you are doomed to failure. Because you can‘t be better than nature. I only paint how it feels. In fact, most of my paintings must be put into the category of what something feels like.” - Ken Done
Oooh! Look whose library hold came in! Brace for an onslaught of colourful art!
I‘ve been a little bit in love with Ken Done‘s artwork since my Grandparents took me to his gallery in The Rocks on my first visit to Sydney.
One of my favourite dresses is made out of upcycled Ken Done fabric - and I know I‘ve met a kindred spirit when someone tilts their head and asks me - Ken Done? ☺️
Anyway - was super pumped to find this on the wall of the National Portrait Gallery.
