When his Australian colleagues begin disappearing, Al, & his hobgoblin Buck, need to discover who is causing these disappearances & what the motivations are.

Al & the relationships he builds are so great! while also dealing w/ loneliness when he can‘t interact the way he wants to. And the humor! Al‘s inner monologue is so sassy, while also reading as so compassionate for the people he loves. This references the Iron Druid series a lot.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Felt like a "need to finish this in lockdown, but can't be bothered" book.

But that might have been me.

I love this new series that Hearne has created, the characters are just great, but this one is exceptionally special because it includes an emergency trip to Australia, and although that trip left me missing some characters, it included some old favorites from his previous series instead. I don‘t want to say anything to spoil anything for anyone, but there is some wonderful resolution to storylines left over from the Iron Druid series.
