#PoetryMatters - Decay: This is one of the first poems that I memorized in Junior High. My English teacher had a thing for Shelley. The only thing that I understood was that two people were looking at a crumbled statue of a “king of kings” who thought that a hunk of stone would speak through the ages of his greatness, power and accomplishments, not thinking or not knowing that all things👇🏽
I wield the flail of the lashing hail,
And whiten the green plains under,
And then again I dissolve it in rain,
And laugh as I pass in thunder. -The Cloud

I 💗 the 3 'Trip' movies. 2 comedians playing themselves in a kinda faux documentary- Michelin ⭐️food, gorgeous scenery and literary pilgrimages (Coleridge in U.K, Shelley in Italy, & Cervantes in Spain) with 2 middle aged men trying to out do each others celeb impressions! In Italy, they have only one CD in the car- Alanis Morrisette! Funny scene where they critique & singalong to ''Ironic'. 😊
We look before and after,
And pine for what is not;
Our sincerest laughter
With some pain is fraught;
Our sweetest songs are those that tell
Of saddest thought.
