Having read this many I am wondering how long Armstrong can stretch this and also getting a little tired of the constant lampshading of lines of inquiry
e.g. Casey asks some random a question and they go something like “ oh you're asking that b/c you really want to know....“
pickArmstrong‘s series set in remote Rockton gets a fresh start with this spin-off series in their freshly constructed Haven‘s Rock. With new faces and familiar ones, Casey and Dalton are summoned to the town a few weeks early when two people go missing from the construction site. Maybe not an auspicious start for their new locale, but surely promising for more murderous adventures set against the dramatic Yukon Territory backdrop! Fun and fast-paced!
pickThe only disappointing thing about reading this book is that I have not read any of the earlier related Rockton series. This book has all the components of a good mystery, well drawn characters, puzzling deaths, lots of red herrings and mistaken identities.
Haven‘s Rock will be a hidden community, created to provide sanctuary for people requiring support and safety. Even before it‘s finished people begin to disappear and then bodies are found.
For today‘s #CanadaDay 🇨🇦 prompt I thought I would go with one of my favorite series and spin off series set in Canada‘s Yukon wilderness 🥰

pickI was so bummed when the Rockton series ended…and am now delighted that some of the characters are continuing in the Haven‘s Rock series! 🥳 The town isn‘t quite finished being built when someone goes missing, prompting Casey, Eric, and Storm‘s early arrival to investigate. Very satisfying, with a good setup for books to come!

pickA spin-off series from one of my favorites, the author‘s Rockton series. Pre-ordering the audiobook got me an ebook of Dead Letter Days, a transitional novella not in the Litsy database yet.
The novella was good with a short mystery & a big event & the tagged book was a solid start for the new hidden in the Yukon sanctuary town of Haven‘s Rock where Casey & Dalton arrive early when two people on the construction team go missing.

This is so good! I usually would have had it read by now. But, a friend's father died in a tragic accident Thursday afternoon. So, I haven't read much.
