"To gain everything and lose everything in the space of a moment. That is the fate of all princes destined for the throne."
A bit abrupt ending, but a truly wonderful character driven story. I loved this series so much❤
Satisfying conclusion to trilogy although I found the court scene with Loyse was incongruous. Otherwise the series was very well plotted and paced. Good character development with clear motivations- despite all the twists and turns of political machinations.
Omg this book 👀💔!!!
I want to know everything but I don't want it to end!

“A kingdom, or this.” Pacat could not have ended this series any better! I wanted to read this slowly and tear through it at the same time. Sad it‘s over, but it was a very satisfying ending. I am a huge fan. 👑👑👑👑👑
#PopSugar2020 A book with a map
This was an amazing ending to a wonderful series. My only complaint was how suddenly it ended. I get the hype.
This final book is heartbreaking beautiful! I loved every second of it.
The development of which character and the romance WAS AMAZING.
One character in particular can fucking burn in hell over and over again.
I would recommend it to everyone who enjoys a good story with a amazing slow-burn romance.
I couldn't put kings rising down, i absolutely loved the trilogy. I recommend giving it a chance.
I read this finale in about four hours. I couldn‘t put it down. I was so unsure about this series after book one but the next two books were phenomenal. Pacat builds such complex characters and I was completely hung up on Daemon and Laurent. I am reeling from a four hour binge and I don‘t know what to do with myself
No surprise, the third book in the series was also wonderful! I really was not ready for it to end. There is also a short story, "The Summer Palace," set after the third book, so I'll probably read that later today.
I really liked this except for how it ended - it just kind of finished.
when you're reading sex scenes at the doctor's office 😳
This story is amazing... No more words. I'm not going to spoil anything... It's a must read.
Waited one month for the third and last part of the series to be available in the library... And!! The betrayal. I'm so mad...

I've mentioned some of my favorites through #libfaves16. The ones pictured here are ones I also really enjoyed.
Very intense conclusion to an addicting and well written series.
I wish this story would never end, but the end it has is pretty perfect. 🌈 I'm having a hard time imagining anything else unseating it as my new favorite romance series anytime soon. Complex characters, brain-breaking intrigue, and the. best. sex. #romantsy
With Christmas now less than a week away, Earl Grey Editing is shutting down for the year. You may still see me around Instagram a bit (maybe). However, there won't be any more blog posts until 6 January.
So before I go, I thought I'd share my favourite reads from this year.
Today for #recommendsday is the Captive Prince trilogy! A m/m political thriller romance, this is one addicting series. Those faint of heart be warned, the first book can be squicky. But it's all worth it for the last book's twists and turns!
I adored these books! The first (Captive Prince) moved a little slow and was clearly a first book effort. Prince's Gambit and King's Rising were fast paced, great plot, and wonderful love story.

A book that pulls you in deeper the second time, allows you to experience emotions that make your chest ache even when you know what's going to happen—I read this trilogy for the first time 7 months ago and I loved it even more this time around. Laurent and Damen are unforgettable as is the journey they take.
There are many books/series vying for a spot on my favorites list, but Captive Prince doesn't have to worry. No book can overthrow them.
You'd think knowing the ending of this book would make the reread easier... nope. Still getting crushed with all the feels—and loving every second of it.
C.S. Pacat brings her Captive Prince trilogy to a nail-biting conclusion with Kings Rising. This was one of my most anticipated books for 2016 and it lives up to expectations.
I loved this trilogy. Come for the romance, stay for the military tactics, coups, and battles!!!
I laughed at this and at the point when Laurent played the Role of Jokaste wearing a skirt and probably making the captain role down in shame with his blood turned to ice. 😎. Deman is the open hearted warrior but Laurent is the boss.
I just love these two, how they let their guard down, both equal in power distant but definite and anchor into each other by accepting who they truly are- just Damen and Laurent, not kings to be or prince or political players.
This series. I feel like my life is over now, but it was SO GOOD. UGH. So many twists and turns and goodness! I MISS IT ALREADY. 😭
Great ending! So many plot twists - I loved it! These two are adorable. Of course I stayed up way too late tonight to finish it (just like last night) even though I was super sluggish today and told myself to go to bed early.
This was the perfect ending. My jaw was continuously dropping through out the whole book. There were so many twists and turns, and I never knew where it was going.
I almost had a heart attack 5 different times reading this book. It was so surprising and twisty I could have never anticipated half of the things that happened. This whole series was so amazing I would highly suggest it!!!
My last review was a bit confusing but at the conclusion of the trilogy I can say it was well worth the tension for the ultimate conclusion.
My brain can't even handle the feels experienced through KR. It was everywhere. It was perfect. THE AWESOMENESS OF KR CANNOT BE DESCRIBED IN ANY SEMBLANCE OF A CALM FASHION DO YOU HEAR ME?! I can't control it. Sorry. This is the finale to a unique, interesting, and fantastic trilogy. I loved it!
Thoughts 1) could not put this one down...such a crazy addictive story!! 2) the ending was a little anticlimactic but it worked and makes my shippy heart happy 3) really sad there are no more words - I don't want to say goodbye!!!
Sigh. Talk about some serious "wait what" moments! But a great wrap up to the series. And I love that there are PAGES of Internet usernames in the acknowledgements. I'll miss these people.
What a wonderful end to the trilogy. Can't wait to see what this author does next... 💙
I met the lovely author of my favourite adult series on Wednesday 💖 I cannot recommend these books enough (but start with Captive Prince 😉)
