This felt less like a sequel and more like a whole new story with the same FMC, with a host of new characters and new intrigues. Hazel learns a great deal throughout the book, about herself and about the world, and her happy ending does come at a cost. All in all, strain on my suspension of disbelief and all, I loved this creepy little duology — well written and plotted, with compelling storylines and a sweet love story. A definite pick.

I adore this gothic feminist historical fiction duology with an alchemical bent. Anatomy is a beautiful book & this follow-up was done extremely well. They incorporate science and horror delightfully, and I would definitely want any YA readers in my life to have them - and would also recommend to adults who can see some of a strong feminist dark and twisty science girly in themselves.

Slowly but surely making progress with this book while being a full time college student and a full time CNA. 💪🏻💙

It was a rare gift, Hazel thought, to be surrounded by intelligent people who actually cared what you had to say.

This was a little slower than the first book. I think my biggest struggle was that if I were Hazel, I would have chosen the other guy. The love triangle needed to be expanded as it was a bit of an afterthought. The ending just left me wondering what would happen to him....

An enjoyable sequel with intrigue and romance. The first book ended on a cliffhanger, and I was happy for the characters to have closure. I'm definitely looking forward to reading anything else Dana Schwartz writes.

Started listening to this on my way to work today. I listened to the first book on a whim last year and it was a pleasant surprise for me. I finished the prologue and first chapter this morning and that prologue has me very intrigued.

My husband listens to Noble Blood. And he thought I would love these books. He was right. They are a great love story. And Immortality made for a perfect relaxing weekend read.

Hubby still hasn‘t recovered from his flu. I‘m hoping he naps a lot so I get to spend time with this book this weekend. I loved the first one.

This is the conclusion to The Anatomy duology. I've enjoyed both books. In this one Hazel ends up as the private surgeon of the princess Charlotte, whose sickness so far no one has been able to cure.

Sitting at my kids' homeschool co-op reading while they're in classes and thought I'd post a quick reading update. After reading 8 nonfiction books in preparation for my trip to New Orleans I'm in need of something lighter. So it's good timing for my newest arrival, Immortality. It's the sequel to Anatomy which I loved so I'm really excited to read this. Maybe not the light, fluffy read I was looking for, but now that I have it I want to read it.

What a great follow up to the first of this series! I know a lot of people has mixed feeling about the original story but I was absolutely delighted with the first and second books of this series. I also listened to it on audible and the reader is perfect for this character!! Excited to see where the open ended ending takes us in the third book. Too bad we have to wait another year 😩

I'm thrilled that my expectations were exceeded in this follow up, though it took half the book to get to the immorality theme. It's a mix of ground breaking history and fantasy, of narcissistic villains, of love, loss, and refound love. It's perfectly executed to tie up all storylines while leaving it wide open to go from a duology to a trilogy. Let's hope that happens!

A fantastic follow up to Anatomy: A Love Story (thank goodness, because the ending was a total killer of a cliffhanger). I'm in love with Dana Schwartz's world & could this continue as an infinite series at this point. Gorgeous cover & a great blend of historical fiction with a touch of sci-fi. Gripping & entertaining. The historical content was lovely, both imaginative & intriguing. Great story, wonderful characters, & atmospheric writing. Loved.

This is the conclusion of a duology, the first of which I read back in Feb. While I do remember the gist of the storyline of the first, I do wish I had been able to read them back-to-back just to have all the smaller details fresh. Hazel is a young surgeon living in Edinburgh who is determined to break into a man‘s world. Following the hanging of Jack, the love of her life, she throws herself back into her work of healing until she is arrested 🔻
