#MarchIntoOz #IfYouLeaveMeCanIComeToo Newlywed Rosetta Wakefield wanted to be with her husband so much that when he went to war, she cut her hair, dressed as a man & joined the Union army as Private Ross Stone. I enjoyed this Civil War historical novel that was inspired by the letters of Rosetta Wakeman & other real life 'secret soldiers' during the Civil War.
This was pretty good. I liked the main character. Ending was expected.
This was so good! A woman pretends to be a man and enlists in the Union army so she can be with her new husband. I am fascinated by Civil War history and this was hard to put down. Highly recommended!
I picked this book from my tbr for the prompt #theresnoplacelikehome because I feel like the title and the premise capture that home is really about the people you are with! #sizzlinsummerbooks
🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 I loved this book. It was beautiful and heart breaking.
A simple country girl with aspirations only to spend her days farming alongside the man she loves, Rosetta Wakefield finds herself following her new husband to war—not for glory or pride or honor, but simply to be at his side. Inspired by the Civil War accounts of women fighting disguised as men, Rosetta's is a beautiful and poignant story of relationship, set against the gritty reality of war—transportive, captivating, emotional. #LyricalApril
Today's pick for #womenshistoryreads. Inspired by the courageous women who disguised themselves as men to fight in the US Civil War. Rosetta's story will stay with you. #womenshistory #herstory #civilwar #histfic
Books I received for Christmas. Super excited about them!
Day20 #booktober #unforgettablewomen I read this book 2 years ago but Rosetta Wakefield, who fought in the Civil War disguised as Pvt. Ross Stone to be close to her new husband, sticks in my mind. The character is inspired by the letters of Sarah Rosetta Wakeman, a real woman who fought for the Union Army as Pvt. Lyons Wakeman, one of 250 known female Civil War soldiers. A fascinating bit of history & truly strong, unforgettable women. #TBT

I bought this ebook when it was on sale because I got hooked by the premise: a woman fighting in the Civil War to stay near her love. Yes, please!
But strangely, I haven't gotten to it yet. Thoughts, littens? Has anyone read this one?
