panThis book looked like a fun, light, cute read. But despite a couple of truly funny lines, I‘m afraid I thought it was silly and dumb. I really should have bailed.
pickI LOVED the first half of this, which was a welcome surprise because mysteries typically aren‘t my thing. Then, the election happened and I was suddenly less invested. That‘s also around when the mystery picked up. Your guess is as good as mine about whether my flagging enthusiasm was due to a change in the book or in the world.
What I can say, with certainty, is that C.M. Waggoner is incredibly funny. I‘ll definitely be reading more of her work!

And her cat is possessed by Thomas Cromwell!! Not very well written, but like popcorn, you just can‘t put it down.

pickLight pick. Started out clever. The paranormal aspect didn't quite work with the rest of the story, in my opinion. If the pace were faster and the length a little shorter I might have enjoyed it more.
