Another delicious installment in the Bakeshop Series set in Ashland, OR! Amidst the rocky beaches of the Oregon coast, Tortes beloved Sterling and Stephanie have been hired to take over the aging restaurant at the cliffside Whaleshead Resort. Theyre nervous about striking out on their own, but excited by the opportunity to put their own spin a new menu. From fresh fish caught the very same day to vegan options and handcrafted pastries, theyre buzzing with ideas. Whats even better is that Jules and the team from Torte have come out for opening weekend to cheer them on. Despite some opening night jitters, the dinner is off with a bang. Guests and long-term residents of Whaleshead Resort are eager to taste the young couples creations. As the tickets begin to line up and guests pile in the front door, Jules and Carlos offer to roll up their sleeves and help in any way they can. Stephanie is taking on every chefs nightmarea fluffy chocolate souffland Sterling is fast at work prepping shrimp linguini and pan-seared halibut when they suddenly hear screaming. Erik Morton, the manager of Whaleshead and their new boss, has taken a fatal fall down the steep and dangerous cliffside trail leading to the beach. Jules and her young protgs quickly realize this was no accident. Now, the team will have to juggle the investigation while keeping the restaurantand Steph and Sterling's new jobsfrom crashing like the waves along the cliffs.

Another solid book in the bakeshop mystery series… I love the heart that bleeds of the page and makes you feel like you are part of the Torte family! I truly hope this is a series that continues for many years to come!

To support her former employees, Jules travels to a seaside resort. Only to find their new boss dead at the bottom of a cliff. And too many questions.

I really love the community & the characters in this series. They are all so much fun. & the importance placed on the food is delicious. & this mystery was well done, but I was disappointed that the book tried to go with “they‘re crazy” when their stated motivations were already enough.🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

#ReadAway2024 #SeriesLove2024

Finished earlier in the week, this is my (final) #Roll100 pick for November (# 38 Any ARC). It‘s # 20 in tbe Bakeshop Mystery Series & comes out 2/25/25. Thanks to the publisher for the ARC! I‘m still trying to get Litsy to fix the wonky title in the system. 😵‍💫 This one is set outside Ashland at the Oregon Coast (one of my favorite places). I won‘t put any of the details in here as not everyone may be caught up ⬇️

DebinHawaii … with the series & there‘s some life changes for several characters, but it‘s a good one that will make you hungry as usual & the recipes are in the back of the book for some key dishes. (I always love when the recipes make the ARCs). I can‘t believe it‘s 20 books for this series—one of my favorite foodie cozies! 🩷 (edited) 7mo
