Today‘s haiku is inspired by a tsunami watch last night due to earthquakes in Russia. It‘s been a while since we had a nighttime alert & even though the watch duration was short, the possibility of going to higher ground at 2:45 AM (time it would hit here) makes me tense. Just a part of island or coastal life. Tsunami translates to “harbor wave(s).

DebinHawaii @JenlovesJT47 @dabbe My haiku sounds way more dramatic than it was. An hour of nerves & low key planning in my head to move to higher ground. I just prefer my warnings in daylight hours! 😉 In the 24 years I‘ve lived here, we‘ve had warnings but I have physically moved inland twice. I‘m just an obsessor. 😆 4d

JenlovesJT47 I understand!! I feel the same way when there‘s a tornado warning in this area. There‘s tons of hurricanes of course but we usually get plenty of warnings. Tornados are a different story! Had one hit my house when I was 9 and have been terrified of them ever since 🌪️ 4d
dabbe @DebinHawaii Well, holy crap, I would be, too! 😂😅😍 4d
