Finished this audiobook today. This is the story of Mary Surratt, one of conspirators in the Lincoln assassination, and the first woman executed by the Federal government. It‘s told from the view points of Mrs. Surratt herself and one of her boarders, Nora Fitzpatrick. A well written and seemingly well researched book.

2. Blame it on @Mdargusch

5. Black Panther! See it in theater if you can because it‘s a fun communal experience.

Well this month was not the greatest for me in Books. I had quite a few so-so books and no ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ . So these are my three favorite books in November. #fallfavorites #👍🏼👍🏼 #noteworthynovember #emojinov
This forlorn sign is one of the few reminders of the Lincoln assassination trials and executions that took place at Fort McNair in the summer of 1865. There are reports that Mary‘s ghost prowls the grounds, but I‘ve never seen her. This book tells a fascinating and poignant story, and I‘m glad @Mdargusch brought it to my attention!
I️ have always been interested in reading about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln so I️ appreciated learning about the events of his death through the eyes of Mary Surratt, a convicted co-conspirator in the murder. The book alternated between chapters told through Mary Surratt and through one of her boarders, Nora Fitzpatrick . Mary was the first woman executed by the US government and after finishing the book, I‘m not convinced of her guilt.
That moment you settle into a plane flight with your audiobook, your knitting, and your Bloody Mary and you realize your new headphones don‘t work. 😤
Anyone read this? I just scooped up this deal because I'm super interested in reading about the Lincoln assassination and all of the conspirators, but I feel like I've already read this story before, so I guess we'll see if this spins the story another way. #kindledeal
