Complete Stories | Dorothy Parker

Pickpick

This quote wasn‘t actually in this book (and in fact may not have even been written by Dorothy Parker at all), but it‘s attributed to her, and one of my favorite lines about one of my favorite drinks. I love a Dirty Bombay Sapphire Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. 🍸
There were a TON of short stories in this compilation. Some were funny, some were sad, many were forgettable, and a few were problematic. But overall I enjoyed it.

Maggie4483 This was my #1924 selection for the #192025 challenge. 7mo

A Passage to India | E. M. Forster

Mehso-so

Forster‘s look at British occupied India in the 1920s certainly scratches the surface of culture & caste clauses, not to mention imperial rule and the desire to break free. The novel also examines friendship and betrayal and in a way redemption. Admittedly, I struggled through parts of this…I‘m not as well versed in my history of India, especially during British rule. However, I‘m glad I read this! #PemberLittens #HashtagBrigade #192025 #1924

SamAnne It was a so-so read. But it prompted me to put some India history on my TBR. 14mo

Mehso-so

Having read a couple of Arsène Lupin books, it was interesting to read the story of his youth. However, this wasn't much of a mystery but more of a melodramatic adventure featuring a very toxic relationship. Reading it in French made it even more of a struggle for me.
