I love these collections of novellas that fit in between novels of a series. It's such a treat to have a tiny extra peak into those worlds. And that this collection is seasonally appropriate is more special. #75-2024

I really enjoyed the CPS pieces, reminded me why I worked in that field for as long as I did. There was a lot of cheesiness and a little spice. Chloe went through so much as a child, it‘s amazing how strong, resilient, and wise she really is as an adult. Book #75 in 2024
I enjoyed the book overall, despite some character flaws and a couple of far fetched pieces. My review is long and in the comments. It contains spoilers!!! Book #75 in 2023
22 #75 I got two books behind in my reading challenge because this book is just slow. But it‘s worth the finish.
This is a wonderful memoir of a black woman who had a tragic life of poverty and abuse who worked so hard to escape it. She lifted herself up and says “success is absolutely wonderful, but it‘s not who you are” and “I was driven to save everyone.” She gave everything she had to her craft and to her family. I respect her so much - even more than I already did. I love Viola Davis. #75 #BookSpinBingo #22 #BFC22 #MMDSRG #JubilantJuly
OK, so I can't find two of my July #roll100 hits---a genre-blending Verso Books London Jenny Hval volume, and a guide through the economic depression of the 1990s by an analyst from India---so, here's some other progressive economics I either need to get to finish (one of them just ordered from 7Stories Press); and my third hit, #75, a middle-grade by a Latina author. And some library loans.
