pickThis book is transcendent. Absolutely amazing in characters, plotting, and weaving a tapestry of time shifts and story arcs. She blends gentleness with brutality so well. I regret not having read it in 2014 and three times since. OTOH, I really did NOT like what the adaptation did to the story especially The Prophet.

pickThis slim novella packs quite a punch! Clare is passing for white while married to a racist husband. She recognizes former classmate Irene, who is able to pass but has married a Black man. Clare regrets her choice and insinuates herself deeper into Irene‘s life. While the subject isn‘t modern, the writing style and suspense is ahead of its time. Excellent!

Busy with work this week, so not so much reading time. Having said that, I‘ve also done more driving to meetings so listened to Passing and Church Ladies, both short but very good. I just started the new Moriarty on audio yesterday.
About halfway through Crossroads, which is a chunkster; loving it so far. Took me a while to get into the writing style of Little Reunions but I think I‘ve got it now! (Nearly halfway through)
