This was my May #bookspin. It started strong, but then it seemed to swirl lightly without a goal. The ending was predictable. Meh. @thearomaofbooks

I got a new phone and Litsy didn't copy over like all of the rest of my apps. Went to the Google Play store and it is not there. Sent a message to Litsy on FB this morning, but no word yet. I hope I can continue to keep up with this site on the web (if I remember!) until the app is available again!

gossamerchild Oh that sucks. I hope it comes back soon. 2y
TrishB Litsy isn't currently available on the Play store, though we are working to get it back up. Let your friend know that Litsy web is always available: https://www.litsy.com/web/home. This was the response on another thread. (edited) 2y

My focus is multi-colored spines, and this was a prettier way to show it than my list. A couple got cut off - Under a Dark Sky, The Shadow King, and the tagged book.

My focus is black spines on my shelves with authors last names A-J. I did find a number of these available on audio through Libby, so I will not be reading all of these in print. The #roll100 and Netgalley books are all on kindle.

I have loved almost every Steinbeck I have read. This was fun, though some of his thoughts would be frowned upon nowadays. I loved his description of Wisconsin, where I live. The audio was read by Gary Sinese.
Thrilled that this was my #bookspin for #AuthorAMonth
@Soubhiville @TheAromaofBooks

JenReadsAlot I started this one today! Looking forward to the WI description now. 2y
Kangaj1 It's in Part 3 I think! I read it out loud to my husband this morning! 2y
Christine Oh man, now I have to read this one! I usually read Steinbeck for his take on my current state (CA), not my childhood one (WI)! 2y

I am participating in #roll100 in 2023. I am not posting my list here, but right now there are about 75 Kindle books on it with room to add more as I get more. Also doing #booked2023 and #bookspin and #doublespin. My main task will focus on different colors of spines on my owned TBR for each month, but these challenges will be nice add-ons. January will be purple spines, and I have some great books lined up!

#bookspin @thearomaofbooks
Thanks to Netgalley and Penguin Press for the opportunity to read this book prior to publication. I was eagerly looking forward to Celeste's new book, as I adored her previous works. This new one is dystopian! Bird and his father live in Cambridge, where his dad, a former linguistics professor, works at the library at Harvard. PACT laws preserve American culture in this world, where Asians are not to be trusted,

Kangaj1 children can be removed from dissident parents, and unpatriotic books are removed from circulation. Bird's own mom had to flee the family due to PACT, and the rest of the story involves Bird's puzzle to find her again. The setup took a while, but about about 30-40% in I could not put this down and finished the rest in one day. I loved the discussions of linguistics, storytelling, poetry, and bad-ass librarians. 2y
Kangaj1 This book is terrifying and heart wrenching, and I will be thinking about this one for a long time.
