This was my May #bookspin. It started strong, but then it seemed to swirl lightly without a goal. The ending was predictable. Meh. @thearomaofbooks

I got a new phone and Litsy didn't copy over like all of the rest of my apps. Went to the Google Play store and it is not there. Sent a message to Litsy on FB this morning, but no word yet. I hope I can continue to keep up with this site on the web (if I remember!) until the app is available again!
Here's my May stack for #bookspin #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks
My focus is multi-colored spines, and this was a prettier way to show it than my list. A couple got cut off - Under a Dark Sky, The Shadow King, and the tagged book.
I read this one for #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville
It started out well and was just meh by the end. I did not like the twist.
This was my #bookspin for April and I loved it! It took a turn in the middle that I was unsure about and normally avoid, but I am so glad I stayed with it. This turned into a 5⭐ read for me! Now to get the next in the series...
@TheAromaofBooks
Here's my #bookspin and #doublespin list for April. @thearomaofbooks
My focus is black spines on my shelves with authors last names A-J. I did find a number of these available on audio through Libby, so I will not be reading all of these in print. The #roll100 and Netgalley books are all on kindle.
This was my #doublespin for @TheAromaofBooks
I really liked this twisty, slow burn mystery and have book 2 on hold.
I have loved almost every Steinbeck I have read. This was fun, though some of his thoughts would be frowned upon nowadays. I loved his description of Wisconsin, where I live. The audio was read by Gary Sinese.
Thrilled that this was my #bookspin for #AuthorAMonth
@Soubhiville @TheAromaofBooks
My #bookspin for Feb was The Gifted School, and I finished it tonight. I tried it on audio first but there were so many characters to keep track of, so I switched to print. A fascinating mess of a community. @TheAromaofBooks
Feb wrap-up:
First 2 books were 5⭐
Rest of row 1-2 were 4⭐
Row 3 were 3.5 ⭐
Bottom row were 3⭐
Here's my March list for #bookspin #doublespin @thearomaofbooks
I still have to read my Feb #bookspin, and I have a bunch of library books not on this list, so who knows. March is mostly made up of green spines from my shelves.
This was my #doublespin for Feb - rated it 3.5 stars. Not as genre bending as I wanted, and I guessed the twist. @TheAromaofBooks
Got most of these at a used bookstore today for $29 (plus three more for hubby), and the bottom two are from a friend's LFL.
This was my #doublespin for Jan, finished this weekend. It's a deep dive into data analytics of literature - classics, modern, popular fiction, fan fiction. Really engaging and surprisingly funny. @TheAromaofBooks
Here are my Feb plans for #bookspin #doublespin. I am reading the tagged book now, so I may finish that before the end of this month. Most of these are beige or pink spines on my shelf.
@thearomaofbooks
Birthday book haul from B&N - with a gift card from work kudos points + my birthday coupon, I got all for $25 tonight!
Just finished this one for #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville
Loved this book so much. And interestingly, this month I have read or am reading a bunch of other books in conversation with this one: Braiding Sweetgrass, Caste, The Gilded Years, Take It Back...
I didn't enjoy this one the first time I read it, but I want to go see the new movie and it has been a while. After falling in love with his writing since, esp the Beartown series, I like this much more this time. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
Could not narrow it down as I read around 185 with over 100 4 ⭐ and 5 ⭐ reads...
For Jan #roll100 @PuddleJumper my books are:
44: The Question of Red (tagged, on Kindle)
84: Finding Mrs. Ford by Deborah Goodrich Royce (audio)
96: A Twist in Time by Julie McElwain (print or Kindle)
Here's my bookish Christmas gifts today. I'm starting Demon Copperhead now!
I am participating in #roll100 in 2023. I am not posting my list here, but right now there are about 75 Kindle books on it with room to add more as I get more. Also doing #booked2023 and #bookspin and #doublespin. My main task will focus on different colors of spines on my owned TBR for each month, but these challenges will be nice add-ons. January will be purple spines, and I have some great books lined up!
I thought I would love this one, and I stuck it out almost halfway before I admitted to myself I was done. Final #bookspin for 2022 @TheAromaofBooks
This was my Dec #doublespin #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
I really like his writing, but I don't love the violence and tension and pacing. I got 170 pages in and bailed. I did read Blacktop Wasteland, and while I think he has talent, his books are just not for me.
The tagged book was my favorite - probably a 4.5 and maybe a fave of the series.
Here's my #bookspin #bookspinbingo for December - trying to finish a couple challenges and read what I received around this time last year! Looking forward to extra time off at the end of the year to read. @thearomaofbooks
Here's my list for #bookspin #doublespin #bookspinbingo @thearomaofbooks
Hoping to get to #AuthorAMonth #TBRDeckofCards (from Oct!) #Roll100 (for Oct and Nov) and finally finish my #Booked2022 that have been hanging out there awhile.
This was my #doublespin for #bookspinbingo
I liked it a lot, and it was really different from mysteries I have read. I have her next one queued up on Netgalley, so I really wanted to get through this first. Beautiful writing, very unique story.
@TheAromaofBooks
This was my #bookspin for October and I finished it last week and forgot to post. This is a fascinating cult memoir describing her life in the Children of God cult and then in the US Army. I got an autographed copy, and the author inscribed, "what cults are you a part of?" @TheAromaofBooks
This weekend's book haul from the Wisconsin Book Festival and my library book sale. I grabbed an extra copy of Nerd for my son.
This was my #doublespin for Sept and just did not work for me. Sadness, because I adored Nothing to See Here. I was pretty bored with it. @TheAromaofBooks
I did not get any bingos this month for #bookspinbingo, and I still have not finished my #doublespin, but it's stacked for next month. I am currently reading the blue squares (plus one more not on this board). @thearomaofbooks
I absolutely loved Fairy Tale. I picked it up at the last minute and it was my only 5 star read in Sept.
@thearomaofbooks #bookspin #doublespin #bookspinbingo
#TBRDeckOfCards #Roll100 #covertocover
Here's my October list. I've been thinking about how I want to structure my reading next year. I am planning to limit my challenges and read either spines of a certain color each month from my shelves or focus on one shelf per month. I did not read near enough of my owned TBR and I am hoping this will help!
I finished my #AuthorAMonth read today and thought it was well done, especially on audio! @Soubhiville
#bookspin @thearomaofbooks
Thanks to Netgalley and Penguin Press for the opportunity to read this book prior to publication. I was eagerly looking forward to Celeste's new book, as I adored her previous works. This new one is dystopian! Bird and his father live in Cambridge, where his dad, a former linguistics professor, works at the library at Harvard. PACT laws preserve American culture in this world, where Asians are not to be trusted,
I cleared the board again for #bookspinbingo @thearomaofbooks
I actually completed 14 books in August and DNFed a lot. All the ones I read were 4-5 stars, and 4 of my books were rereads this month.
Here's my list for #bookspin #bookspinbingo #doublespin @thearomaofbooks
Also includes books for #Roll100 #TBRDeckOfCards #covertocover #Booked2022 #AuthorAMonth
@clwojick @cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @barbarathebibliophage @Soubhiville @PuddleJumper
I didn't get through all of these challenges in August, so some will go back on the shelf. Looking forward to starting fresh!
Finished this #doublespin in two days - needed that after all my DNFs lately! This was excellent and I am looking forward to her next book queued up on netgalley...
@TheAromaofBooks
I have already bailed on my #bookspin for August. I was 2.5 hours in on audio and just did not care. I am planning two other #AuthorAMonth books by this author, so I am hoping something sticks! @TheAromaofBooks @Soubhiville
Here's my #bookspinbingo board for July. I finished 12 books, which is low for me, but we had a lot going on around here. I was DNFing books left and right.
I read the tagged book as a buddy read that started in late June, and really liked it a lot!
@thearomaofbooks #Roll100 @PuddleJumper #TBRDeckofCards @clwojick #Booked2022 @cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @barbarathebibliophage #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville
Here is my list for #bookspin #doublespin #bookspinbingo @thearomaofbooks
I am not sure I will read all of the #AuthorAMonth listed @Soubhiville, but they are placeholders so I can see if I like them.
Also listed #TBRDeckOfCards @clwojick - I already ruled one other one out this week.
#Booked2022 (almost done with this one!) @cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @barbarathebibliophage
#Roll100 @PuddleJumper
I read the new version of this that came out this year. It was just fine, IMHO. I liked Ain't Burned All the Bright much better. #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville
#doublespin @TheAromaofBooks
I finished this one tonight. I liked her first one in the Lacey Flint series more, and I read 1.5 and this one this month. This was good, but there were a few things that bugged me. Still, pressing on in the series because I heard they get better.
I love Jason Reynolds, but this one was not my favorite. I listened to this on audio and the narrator was not all that. Still, one of my kids is in track and cross country, so it was fun to get a peek into this world. @Soubhiville #AuthorAMonth
