Well, I already have Julia Whelan as terrific audiobook narrator and now I can add Shane East to my favorites. Ooo la la. This was very enjoyable. And I loved that the conflict wasn‘t the typical trope that I had expected— not that I don‘t enjoy the typical tropes, but I was glad to be surprised with something different. #AudibleOriginal

Enjoyable, unique, and well-produced story about an Americanized daughter of Indian parents. The mom wants to arrange a traditional marriage, but daughter isn‘t having any of that. When fate steps in, this story takes a turn you‘d never expect. The superstitions of the “old country” juxtaposed with voicemail, phone calls, and texting format make for a fun and thought-provoking listen. #audibleoriginal #diverseauthors #litfluence

WJCintron It‘s amazing and heartwrenching!! 3y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @WJCintron I‘m pretty sure it‘s your recent review that made me start it! 📚💜 3y
shawnmooney Long time no chat, Barbara! I‘ve continued following your reviews on Goodreads, though, and have recently come back to Litsy. This wee audiobook sounds great! Any chance I could coax you onto Zoom for a ten-minute chat about it for my new series Bite-sized Book Chats? The playlist is here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLU-61cZp1pQdBH5V0Zb9q-2ujl4PY8nhf. Would love to have you as a guest! 3y

Listening to Audible Originals that haven't turned into podcasts yet. Am I the only one who doesn't like that? ☹

This is the gripping story of the Golden State Killer investigation that spanned decades and have finally been solved with the help of genealogy.

🎧🐾 Stunning sunrise while walking the pup and listening to a cheesy holiday rom-com: Nick and Noel‘s Christmas Playlist by Codi Hall. This #AudibleOriginal is not in the database (are they ever? 🙄). Predictable story, but cute so far!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This quick #AudibleOriginal was a fine way to start my day. And lots of coffee, naturally. Caffeine is the world‘s most widely consumed psychoactive drug. Pollan takes a look at how it affects our daily lives while providing a brief history of caffeinated beverages and their influences on society. Pair this with AJ Jacobs‘s gratitude journey, Thanks a Thousand, where he pays homage to everyone who has a hand in the coffee making process.

Another #audibleoriginal that‘s not in the database. I was thinking this one sounded similar to Educated, but if that‘s what you‘re looking for, this ain‘t it fam. I‘m so confused as to why this was even written. Compared to the dysfunctional families we often see in memoirs of the same vein, Lenz‘s family is downright normal. Ok, they‘re Mormons that think the rapture is coming, but she barely scratched the surface on anything. 🤷🏼‍♀️

AlaMich That‘s too bad. I‘ve heard Lenz interviewed and she has a very interesting story about how she left Mormonism and had to redefine herself. I don‘t know if she went into any of that in this book. 3y
Reviewsbylola She did not. It was only a two hour audiobook. I think had she gone more in depth, it would have been much more successful. @AlaMich 3y

This was good, for what it was. A novella that explores spousal relationships and friendships. I could so relate to the narrator Mary. Thorpe has a way of really peeling back the layers to expose genuine emotions and characters. But I wanted a full book on Mary and Fiona. 😂 #audibleoriginal

Megabooks Same!! Definitely wanted a whole book. 4y

This one isn‘t in the database as far as I can tell. I typically don‘t do fiction on audio but this sounded interesting and the concept is intriguing. Far from your typical audiobook, it reads like a sitcom. I loved the different format and Christian Slater was a nice bonus. I‘ll definitely keep an eye out for more #audibleoriginal titles like this.

StaceGhost Is this about the phone phreakers who hacked Bell by whistling at the exact octave for a connection? 4y
Reviewsbylola Yes!! Well, based on that at least, but a fictional account where the MC is a blind female high school student. @StaceGhost 4y
StaceGhost @Reviewsbylola aaahhh!! That‘s so cool!! What a great recommendation 4y
