@Reagan when I couldn‘t decide on my next tbr book I went shopping. My logic totally makes sense to me. And I was very unsuccessful in sneaking them into the house without my hubby noticing.

TheBookStacker I read The Perfect Couple on my vacation in Key West this summer and it was my first of her books but I really enjoyed it. 14h
Reagan @mdm139 that is a perfectly valid option! 8h

This book brought me back to my childhood. I remember the events, the players, the songs. I really enjoyed the way that the author tied the music of the era into her story. Every chapter was headed by the title of a song, and that song‘s theme seemed to prevail in each chapter.
I found this to be a quick and entertaining read, which I highly recommend.

This book was way too long.

But the bigger problem from my POV is how the author treats the black characters. The main character is white and has lots of white fragility but is portrayed as a good ally. And then crazy things happen to black characters. Like, at one point they ask a black person in the book if she can tell if someone is mixed race because none of the white characters can. Good god. Does this stuff strike anyone else as annoying?

betsyhaddox Also has the unironic line, “It‘s not his fault. I‘m the one who let myself get pregnant” regarding an unplanned pregnancy. Modern day setting. 3w

I just finished up #sunsetbeach by @marykayandrews and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I really loved the main character, Drew, and I loved how she never gave up on discovering the truth of what really happened to Jasmine. To me, this is went beyond her character because she was known for failing and giving up on everything but this was like a turn of events for her and it really showed her true character and strength! I highly recommend this one!

Another great #NewYearWhoDis pick from @Hestapleton 👏👏

This is a light and fluffy whodunnit that would make the perfect beach read. A lot more enjoyable than I had expected it to be and easy to follow how all the different characters are connected. I do think the ending was a little anti climactic but still a quick and enjoyable book that was just what I needed to make it through the work day

Hestapleton Yay! I‘m glad you enjoyed it! 4w

Not feeling work today so it's a filing and #audiobook day

Going to get into this #NewYearWhoDis pick and see how it goes. I haven't had a bad book from this batch yet so I have high hopes!

@monalyisha @Hestapleton

Hestapleton I‘m also not feeling work today! I found this to be a really great escapist read: light and easy. Hope it helps your day fly by! 1mo

FantasyChick @Hestapleton Well it's definitely an easy listen! I had it on all day at work and I've got about an hour left, lol. Honestly, a lot more enjoyable than I originally thought it would be. 1mo
Hestapleton @FantasyChick I felt the same way! I literally picked it up because beach wedding + Murder and was like “wow I actually like this”. 1mo

🌟🌟 #audiobook #beachread
This book is somewhat entertaining but tends to leave one underwhelmed once you reach the end.

I didn‘t hate it — unlike The Matchmaker. Sometimes the plot stretched credulity a bit and there were a tad too many neat parallels. Several of the characters tended to overreact to situations, especially Kate, but overall, I liked the book.
