So many emotions ran through me while reading this book: deep sadness,anger,awe.It‘s the story of a mentally handicapped man,who works in a dry cleaning business that Brunetti‘s wife Paola frequents.She learns he has died & she asks Brunetti to look into his death.As a favor to her he does,but finds no trace of the man- it‘s as if he didn‘t exist.Is his “viper” of a mother or his Aristocratic father‘s family involved in his death?

I had to go for fasting bloodwork this morning so I treated myself to a coffee & a breakfast sandwich - of course while reading. ☕️🥯📙

My mood is sending me to Venice. Just went outside, the rain stopped, still overcast, but the temp rose to 63, so it feels like I am enveloped in balmy steam on my sidewalk. #serieslove2025

A Venetian librarian calls Brunetti with news of a terrible theft and defacing of priceless ancient books. A horrific murder occurs of “Tertullian”, an ex-priest,who is often reading at the same table as a thief. A multitude of suspects means an exhaustive methodical investigation. As always, many ancient are mentioned and discovered in the investigative process. #serieslove2025
