#pemberlitten #Chapter22NS The riot reaches the Thornton‘s house and factory. The hands have found out the Mr. Thornton has hired workers from Ireland for a cheaper wage and they are pissed. Mrs. Thornton and Fanny seek refuge deeper in the house while Margaret encourages John to face his employees. He does and just makes them more angry. Margaret can see violence is about the erupt and rushes to John‘s aid. She pleads with the people 👇👇👇
MicrobeMom to go home. A boy throws a rock that hits Margaret in the temple. She falls into John‘s arms. More yelling occurs, soldiers show up, and the hands disperse. Margaret passed out is carried into the house where John confesses his love for her. His mother sends him to take care of the Irish. Mrs. Thornton asks Jane the servant to get the doctor. She doesn‘t want to for fear of the dispersing riot. So Mrs. Thornton bravely goes herself but not 2y
MicrobeMom before calling Jane a coward. Fanny makes a fuss and Jane tells her of Margaret in John‘s arms. This can‘t be, Margaret would not be so bold. The doctor comes and patches her up. Margaret insists on going home and the doctor sees her home. Great chapter!! 2y
