John‘s brother-in-law wants him to dump his borrowed money into some speculation scheme. After a dramatic talks with Mrs. Thornton he decides not too and is forces to give up his business. While he is offer a few positions, he is waiting for the right one. He also finds👇👇
MicrobeMom out that the speculation scheme made his brother-in-law a very rich man. During all of this, because he was forced to borrow money, Margaret somehow becomes his landlord through the properties she inherited from Mr. Bell. Also, Higgins reveals that Fred was in Milton at the time of Mrs. Hale‘s death. John is comforted that Margaret never did anything improper. He now regains his respect of her. CrowCAH Yeah I didn‘t quite get how Mr Thornton became a tenant of Margaret‘s, but it was an interesting juxtaposition for their roles of “master” and “hand.” 2y
