#PemberLittens 20th Anniversary showing of Pride and Prejudice definitely called for dressing up. Niece in law Jen and I had the best time. We sighed, we laughed, we clapped.

"You have bewitched me body and soul and I love, I love, I love you." ?

Crinoline_Laphroaig @Kristin_Reads @dabbe @CrowCAH @TheBookHippie you should have seen me. I had to pee during the movie. I hiked up my skirt and went running down the hallway of theater because I didn't want to miss Pemberley. 😂 4d

Aims42 Nice!!! I‘ve been dabbling in embroidery too, I appreciate how relaxing it is and that it‘s easy to start and stop 😊 I‘m working on something now, I‘ll post a pic when I finish it (hint it involves the trifecta of awesomeness: ☕️📚🌷) 6mo

Yes, I'm reading random Georgian satirical pamphlets. I'm actually trying to trace a long chain of anonymous plagiarism, after a snide remark in Derenzy's Enchiridion about a cravat pamphlet. This one came much later, and is stolen from a French satirist. But that's okay, because I think he stole it from an Englishman before him. Anyway, it's all very silly and yet still has real and interesting insight into 1820s men's fashion.

4/5⭐ As a reference it's wonderfully informative with tons of illustrations and photos. The author uses muslin to demonstrate so many variations of gathering, shirring, ruffles, flounces, godets, pleating, smocking, tucking, cording, quilting, stuffing, and darts. She also shows how combinations of these methods can be used to produce beautiful patterns in creative projects. I can see why this book is recommended in crafting circles so often.

#TLT #ThreeListThursday @dabbe

1. Hedwig and the Angry inch by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask (saw live 3 times, seen the movie many times)

2. Moulin Rouge from Baz Luhrmann (haven't seen the stage show yet 😕)

3. The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh (saw in a church attic in Philadelphia with John Lithgow's son in the lead role)

TieDyeDude Honorable mentions 😉: An American in Paris, The Greatest Showman, Once, A Raisin in the Sun, Hamilton, Othello, Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Hadestown. I usually prioritize musicals, but I love live theater and I hope that the success of Hamilton eventually leads to more streaming releases of Broadway shows 🙏 (edited) 1y
dabbe You are definitely a theater/musical maestro! And you've given me some new ones to see! Or read if there are written versions, too! Thanks for sharing! 🤩🤩🤩 1y

4.5/5⭐ I'm impressed by how thorough this book is on how to make costumes; the instructions can also be used for making clothing in general. I'll probably still need to watch videos on some of the techniques, but overall the descriptions and images are clear. The book provides patterns and instructions for basic pieces that can be combined and altered to create the most common costumes/cosplays, along with details for making those alterations.
