Now we‘re talking. Everybody seems to rave about this series, but I read book one and was underwhelmed. In book two, it really seems to hit its stride, though. The three leads get fleshed out here into richer characters, and we get to see the fierce assassin the first book promises but doesn‘t quite deliver. I won‘t say more for fear of spoilers for any other late adopters like me, but I‘m definitely looking forward to the next book! #DoubleSpin
Well, I just finished my #DoubleSpin so no time like the present to belatedly post my April #BookSpin list. In keeping with doing things kind of backwards and out of order, I think I‘ll start my actual #BookSpin book now. 🤣
My #DoubleSpin for April is a soft pick. It has a lot of good points and is very readable, but the romantic chemistry between the leads just didn't gel into something wonderful.

I thought I would have enjoyed this one more than i did 🤷♀️ my #doublespin for April @TheAromaofBooks
March #bookspin was super successful, thanks to all the novelettes and novellas I read. Still didn't get a bingo or read my #bookspin though (I should get to it this month). April's list is already well underway, I've actually finished my #bookspin and #doublespin but I'll post that update when I make my May list
And I think that's it for my very belated wrap up posts

I‘m 20 years into my fascination of movies and books set in India. (It started when my 12yo daughter and I discovered Netflix Bollywood dvds.). I‘m humbled by the culture, history, and religions so unknown to me. Reading Shalini discover Kashmir was interesting and heartbreaking. Heartbreaking because we are not all built with the intestinal fortitude to become the person we truly want to be.

Sanderson did it again.
This installment is much slower and less action packed than the previous two, but still ending on a high that leaves me wanting more.

I love stories about the ancient gods and their lives. So this tale about the Gaelic Goddess of Winter sounded right up my alley.
But I found it a little repetitive, and the lack of character growth in the first majority of the book got on my nerves.
The ending did somewhat compensate for the beginning and left me satisfied.
