1: is there a book character you love to hate ? Some of the Wesley's,
2: which character's dead hit you the hardest? Fred Weasley
3: who is a popular author from your city , state or county Homer Hickam,Carlene Thompson ( haven't read them yet but heard they was good )
Okay, so.....quick question.
How far into a book do you allow yourself to DNF?
I can usually tell right away if the book is not for me BUT sometimes the book is OKAY but I'm also not really enjoying myself and I'm hoping it'll get better. And I can't decide if I should stick it out or not. (I'm reading Safe and Sound by E.M. Lindsey and struggling with it.)
What is y'all's method for DNFing?? Just curious 🤔.
Welcome to my reading corner

While I was gone today my amazing Hubby put up my TBR shelves!! He even decorated them and added some books as place holders while I get organized 🥰🥰 he is legit the best!!
Debut, self-published noir-ish space opera. The author contacted me and asked for my review. I have a lot on my TBR so I hesitated even tho I have happily read & reviewed a number of self-published books in the last year. After reading it, I'm glad I said yes. A bit formulaic, but the characters, world building and writing style were really well done. Good escapist summer read. Free on Kindle Unlimited.

Back for July
I finally actually read a real book for the first time in months…kind of….it was a collection of horror stories that took maybe two hours tops to read. It‘s at least more than I‘ve read in a couple months though. This was a fun collection. I didn‘t love all of the stories, but all of the authors definitely had talent and this was a lot of fun! Much better than most horror short story collections that I read!

😱 😱My phone died!!! 😱
I maybe offline for a day or more until I can get a new phone. Until then... happy reading!
This is the 2nd in a series from Charles K. Jordan. Both books are well crafted and engaging, with excellent world building. A bit frustrated with the # of loose ends left dangling by both books, but the action and story telling style have made up for it. If you want to take the plunge into an indie fantasy series, you could do a lot worse than this one - and the author is giving away his 1st book free.

TRIGGER WARNING** This story contains: racism, violence towards children, sexual assault, suicide and self harm.
first book by this author, and I loved it , it
was slow at frist ,but man did it pick up, and every time I tried to put it down I just couldn't, it made me questioning every thing I thought I knew or was finding out about these characters. As well as made it hard for me to trust any of them.
When your making buttons that way when your traveling and reading/crafting in a public place ppl will leave ya alone.
Happy Mother‘s Day! Enjoying a Chipotle cheesesteak and some Hoop tea followed by some book reading. Hope you day is full of all the things you love 💜🌻

Fans of Sherlock Holmes may remember that the murderer in The Hound of the Baskervilles presumably died in the bog while trying to escape. But did he? Jim Nelson has taken his short and incomplete back story from the end Conan Doyle's book & turned it into a fun, adventurous novel. It's been ages since I read The Hound, but it didn't matter - this book stands on its own.
