My little protestors

I joined a challenge on Habitica to read "ghost" books aka books that have been on our shelves for quite too much time. I remember that I studied part of this book for an exam but never finished it, so here we are.
I'm finding it interesting but it's hard to sit down and read, so I've been thinking of alternating heavier books such as this one (nonfiction about the history of Libraries) to lighter ones. What do you think?

It's a 4/20 Easter so praise it & blaze it

Our little stay got into a fight with the neighbours cat. We trapped him this morning as he needs med treatment and we were gonna have to eventually anyway as we are keeping him. Now we are in the ER and my daughter needs possible surgery from being bitten. Long story, it was so hard getting him from trap to crate. And our poor Barde hates us but is now safe in a crate inside. Keep us all in your thoughts.

On a scale of 1-10 how unhinged is it to send screen shots of every article discussing the thing you were labeled "over dramatic or ridiculous " for believing to the people who labeled you that?

I think I'm going to just isolate at home with my books

I'm sorry for all the doom posts, but I'm having a difficult time handling the onslaught of fear, uncertainty and unmitigated rage at the state of the world and the people making it happen. These simple posts help me process that

2⭐️ well its better than some of the other books that have been clogging up my kindle, though thats the best i can really say about it. It was super short so i got threw it quickly which means I was able to delete it faster leaving my kindle a little more organized. All in all, a win! This was my #BookSpin for March and my #9 #Roll100.

Back to reading after 1 month of break. I think this book was a suggestion on TikTok or was it Instagram...
Really loved it. True love. With all the conflicts in between.

2.8 better than I expected, but still not great. This is part of my #roll100 for February. This is an alien romance where the girls get kidnapped from their home planet by bad aliens, crashed into foreign planet, and meet the not bad sexy aliens. Sounds familiar, yep for me too. Yes, there was enough differences that it could‘ve made this book thrive on its own merit; however, it was not executed well.

FANGS, Vol.3 by Billy Balibally

I like that this volume explained some questions I had from the other two but something about the pacing of it, makes me think there could be more but not so centered around En and Ichii?, but I could be wrong.

The build up of Megi from the last volume to this one was interesting but it also feels flat. So I'm hoping for more on his character but we'll see; the volume ended with an open ending.

We didn‘t get good news today from her ultrasound. It wasn‘t cancer but a cat specific disease that had done so much damage to her liver, bile ducts, pancreas, gallbladder and intestines. We couldn‘t bring her home. It would have been cruel. I‘m going to miss her so much. It doesn‘t feel right.

The Absent Heart by Ali Bacon

Inspired by the letters of Robert Louis Stevenson. It took me a little while to get into this book as it‘s quite a slow burner, but once I did I found myself quite transported to the 19th century. It has a good sense of time and place. It‘s beautifully and imaginatively written. The characters are well drawn and the author brought them to life wonderfully. An engaging, interesting and worthwhile read. #TBC

#12of2025 is by someone who I have taken many book recommendations from off of Tik Tok. She likes to read the spicy ones and I‘m excited to see what she has to deliver.

Pulling this from my shelves to close out February. Short story collection…looking forward to diving in.

It was pretty cute. I‘m a big wrestling fan so I liked picking out all the inspo. At first Elle was driving me crazy, Logan wasn‘t much of a grump for a “grumpy bartender” but as they got a better read on eachother it was really sweet and the 3rd act conflict was so fun.

There are a smattering of misspellings/typos, so fair warning.

Someone reminded me today was a good day to get re-acquainted with my digital library

Meet Augustus…..my eldest found him outside very emaciated. So we have taken him in, set him up a nice home and are feeding him yummy crickets. He is easily handled too and very friendly.

Curious if anyone has one of the Kobos that let you write on it with a stylus? Thoughts on whether it‘s worth it and how it compares to, say, writing on an iPad?

Awwwe, 6 years of fun 🥰

We are having a hard 24 hours here. Yesterday we lost this baby girl, Midnight. She was our last rat. We have had rats non stop pretty much for 19 years. We are not getting any more as with my husband unwell everyone is taking on so much. Then when my husband was cleaning our ladies out (mice) we noticed our Sage who was 2 had passed. She was fine the day before. It‘s the end of our rattie era. I‘m going to miss them

I'm going to use this weekend to wrap on my 2024 reads because I want to get better about posting my reads as I finish them 😂

I'm pretty bad about posting my current reads here... So very bad at that but I'm going to try to get better 🤞🏼

I truely loved reading this book by Densey Clyne. It was published one year before she passed and reading her words you can feel the enthusiasm she had for the life of the macro all around her. I had not realised she has passed, she was part of my childhood being on tv a bit and she made a lasting impression on me.

I might have developed an appreciation for entomology but this guy was not welcome in the car today! We believe it‘s a hawk wasp (huntsman hawk) and apparently can be aggressive. With a sting the most painful of wasps (so he can immobilise huntsman) He was not welcome to buzz at my head!

My morning companion while the house was still fully asleep. And such. Delightful companion she is too.
