Another great fantasy series. Met the author a few times at signings and he‘s a really nice person and he is good to follow on fb 😁
#favouritesignedbooks

LeahBergen There‘s just something so appealing about a signed book. 🥰 2y
TracyReadsBooks This is SO cool and I‘m a little jelly! I‘ve only read the first couple of books in this series but they are fantastic—I think I have most of them in my TBR…Now I want to dig them out. So nice to hear you‘ve had good experiences meeting Brett—that always makes a signing that much more awesome! 2y
TrishB @LeahBergen I think so too ♥️ 2y
TrishB @TracyReadsBooks it‘s a great series 👍🏻 2y

Weaveworld | Clive Barker

Hubby and I are both big Clive Barker fans (from before we were together). I was lucky enough to meet him several times while he still lived in Liverpool.
Hubby did one better and worked with his brother and got invited to tea whilst Clive was there. Clive drew the pic in the book for hubby. I‘m not jealous.
Clive wrote genius horror/fantasy.

Oryx That is very cool 2y
TrishB @julesG Sadly no ☹️ I tried that one! But my dad is from a different part of the U.K. and I couldn‘t trace any links! 2y
vivastory This is awesome! What's your favorite Barker book? 2y
andrew61 Brilliant share Trish, thanks. I read lots of barker back in the 80's. I might try weaveworld again, your post is a great prompt. 2y

batsy This is so fabulous! 2y
TrishB @vivastory I‘m still thinking, there genuinely was a period where everything was near enough perfect. 2y

TrishB @Centique yes I went to tea with my fave author will always be cool 😁 2y
Nute Wow! This is very cool, Trish! What a down-to-earth and casual way of meeting an author, a luncheon chat over tea! It doesn‘t get better than that, unless that author draws you a very cool picture! Awesome memories for you and your husband. 2y
TrishB @Nute definitely 😁 2y
Reggie 😭😭😭I‘m not jealous at all of both of you!!! 🖤🖤🖤 He‘s my reading beginning. 2y
TrishB @Reggie he‘s a great beginning, you know how I love Clive ❤️ 2y

The Piano Man's Daughter | Timothy Findley
post image

Following the lead of @TracyReadsBooks and sharing one of my favourite signed books. I stumbled across this copy of The Piano Man's Daughter 10+ years ago. A family member gave it to me and told me to just pass it along when I was done with it...she didn't even realize that having a signed copy was a big deal! Needless to say, I pulled a selfish on this one and did *not* just send it on down the line. #FavoriteSignedBooks #FavouriteSignedBooks

CuriousG I should note that I did offer to give it back to the person, but she didn't want it 🤷‍♀️ 2y
PurpleyPumpkin This is one book I‘d be keeping forever!😉 2y
TracyReadsBooks I love this story! The delight in finding a signed book unexpectedly is real, isn‘t it? 2y

CuriousG @PurpleyPumpkin Right?! It also happened to come to me at a time when I was working at the Stratford Festival and his play Elizabeth Rex premiered. I knew what I had in my hands and wasn't letting it go! I was only a bartender, but working there was maybe the coolest job I've had in terms of exposing me to people, ideas, and art I would not normally have been around. Amazing how much you can glean behind a bar. Lol 2y
CuriousG @TracyReadsBooks It absolutely is! 2y
PurpleyPumpkin How amazing that you worked at the Stratford Festival! What an experience that must have been.😀 2y
CuriousG @PurpleyPumpkin It definitely had its perks. I would love to have free access to theatre now! 2y
kwmg40 What a treasure! I had the privilege of hearing Timothy Findley do a reading in before he passed. I also live close to the Stratford Festival and have been attending regularly for the past 35 years. How cool that you had worked there! 2y
CuriousG @kwmg40 growing up nearby, and going to Stratford for school, I had no idea how amazing it was to have something like the Festival Theatre right there. Now I can actually appreciate it and can't wait to actually set foot in the new Tom Patterson Theatre this year! 2y
kwmg40 I‘m looking forward to seeing the new theatre too! 2y
