I caved @TrishB - it is a beautiful set

All dressed up and ready to see Margaret Atwood in Manchester

A perfect little horror novel. We've got some folk horror, a touch of cosmic horror, and a very good boy indeed 🐕. I thought this was fab. Pictured with a good girl.

My book of the year. I loved this. It was so much fun. It just builds and builds. Truly cinematic, it was all so vivid in my head. Joe Hill says his influences were the secret history, Friends, fairy tales, and paranormal phenomena. I want to say more, but don't want to spoil it.
Even if you think dragons aren't your thing, give this a go, it's so much more.

Happy Halloween

Look at the size of that thing. I thought it was topping 1000, but it's about 900 pages.

A fantastic read. Genuinely invested in the slowly unfolding story.

Yesterday's acquisitions. The tagged book sounds fab - a history of childhood reading. I've spotted chapters on Enid Blyton, Nancy Drew,, Anna Sewell, E Nesbit, Moomins, brothers grimm, and all sorts of goodness. I'm thinking this could be a perfect winter or Christmas read.

Visiting the lovely Bridge Books in Dromore, Co Down.

They did such a good job on this movie. Dare I say, maybe I liked it better than the novella? The friendships were done beautifully and the ending was better. It was very moving overall.

And I managed to finish it in our 2-night stay at this lodge. It's a fast read. Perfect rainforest reading. Enjoyed it as much as I did when I read it about 10 times as a teenager.

Found this gem in the library at our lodge. I do own a copy, but I really fancied rereading it recently, so I'll make a head start on holiday.

I loved this. Instantly hooked. Lots of big ideas about AI wrapped in a propulsive story with characters you get invested in. A new to me author I looked up after reading his short story in The End of The World as We Know It.

It arrived. I'm going to hell

Keeping on brand this fine Sunday

I've gone from pretty interested to read this, to can't wait to read this. I'm very excited. And now I know how to pronounce it. Bonus.
So nice to see you and C at this @TrishB

I accidentally matched my bookmark to my book today @squirrelbrain

Sitting on my shelf for about 4 years (a mere youngster), finally asked to be read, and it's really good. The story of several generations of Cuban women in Cuba and the US.

Another super read from Ronald Malfi. This was great, I read in 2 days. Very atmospheric and gripping mystery with a real sense of place.

Extremely grateful to achieve a life long dream of seeing mountain gorillas in the wild. When Dian Fossey wrote the tagged book in the 80s, there were only around 240 left in wild. There are around 1000 now, but still very endangered. The tagged book is so good, I read it while I was in Rwanda/Uganda.

Another fantastic #camplitsy25 read. I was very moved by this one. Going to be hard to pick a winner this month.

I thought this was great. So unique and original. Thanks #camplitsy25 for putting it on my radar. Looking forward to discussing.

Forgot to get the obligatory dog in bookshop picture, so some bad posing outside where she ignored all instructions.

How is anyone expected to read under these conditions?

Last Rhiannon book @julesG 😢 I need more.

I will never not think of The Secret Garden when I see something like this.

All my favorite things.

I demolished this in a couple of days - so atmospheric and propulsive - thanks for this one @trishb - excellent choice - thought it was great, and have added Black Mouth to my basket (just waiting for that click).

Still incredulous that this is Wales!!

The UK (Wales) is masquerading as somewhere much hotter and more glamorous this week. I've been reading the tagged book in the sunshine today.

Went to Bridge Books in Dromore, NI with my mum, to get some books for my upcoming birthday. My little haul ♥️🩷🧡

Finally it's outdoor reading time. And outdoor napping for 🐕

My selection from Serenity booksellers

More Daisy in bookshops. There was a pet shop next door so she was more interested in that.

If MZ doesn't want people to read this, then I want to read it. It's extremely readable - I'm hooked

I hadn't realized until recently there was this beautiful book shop only 20 mins drive from my house, so Daisy and I paid them a visit. Beautiful shop, well curated, and so friendly.

Book mail! Obsessed with the covers on the bottom too.

I move for one minute, and she steals my seat and all the cushions
