Getting in a little #ChristmasSpirit with a holiday themed bath bomb tonight

#bookandbath #bathbomb

Soubhiville Does it smell like Christmas trees? 2w
FantasyChick @Soubhiville Not really it's more of a spiced scent. Like if you walked into a Victorian Christmas party where the place is filled with mistletoe, lit candles and warm cider.....this is exactly how it would smell. 2w

I'm not very far int it but so far it is good. Blue is a silkwing and has just came out of his cacoon of flame silk. Blue and cricket and a couple of there friends are going to a hive to stop an attack. If you like books that have talking dragons in it you will like this one. The genre of this book is fantasy.

MissYaremcio Great review Andrew! If you like dragons I have a ton of books for you! 2w

Mehso-so

Meh. I finished it. I didn‘t love it though. I want to like this series more because I need a new Steph Plum/Kinsey Milhone type series but this isn‘t it. 😔

This was a fun read, although a bit old for my daughter (subject, not ability).

Friday is an unusual child in an unusual family. She takes up solving crime, which earns her reward money, which finances boarding school, which turns out to be full of mystery. Looking forward to the next one (darn cliffhanger).

Tamra What age range would you suggest? Are there illustrations? 3w
ravenlee @Tamra there are some illustrations but not many. I‘d go with age 10-12 or so. MC is 11 and going to boarding school for seventh grade. There‘s a bit of crush stuff, blooming awareness of class difference and clothing reflecting that. Not inappropriate for my 6-year-old but I don‘t think she‘d get into it. 3w
Tamra @ravenlee thank you - I‘ll check out a library copy to peruse. 3w

Current mystery/caper/whatever you call a Steph Plum-type story read.

The storytelling takes you through political courts & palaces of magic where warring tribes fight a powerful, tyrant King. Nahri is struggling to find her place & work for the good of the people of Daevabad. The story follows Nahri, Ali & Dara as war threatens a fragile peace. I am loving this series. This is becoming a fast favourite, only have to wait till the end of February for the last in the triology 'The Empire of Gold'

cherinium I just finished the audio of this last week. Definitely looking forward to the conclusion. 3w
JaneyWaneyB @cherinium totally agree, end of February I can't wait, best series I've read in a long time 3w
SoManyBooksNotEnoughTime this sounds awesome, never even heard of this trilogy, adding it to my tbr now :) 3w
JaneyWaneyB @SoManyBooksNotEnoughTime the first book City of Brass was gifted to me as part of a Litsy Swap and it was brilliant. Enjoy 😃 3w

This fantasy series is a lot of fun with such complex, interesting characters. Admittedly, it took me a little longer to get sucked into this one than it did for The City of Brass, but once I was hooked, the story didn't let go. I'm looking forward to the final installment which is due out in a few months. #fantasy #magic #trilogy #strongfemalecharacters #bookmap

I haven‘t had much time to read Friday or Saturday, because I celebrated my birthday (a week early) with my family yesterday. I had a lovely day, and among other great gifts, I got these two lovely books 📚

Today, I‘m going to relax with Eleanor and Park, and enjoy not having any plans 🙌

Biscuit has examined my book haul and declares it good (and gave me permission to buy myself a copy of the first book in this series too). #BunniesofLitsy

Glad to get the Kirstein books -- never yet finished the series but I know from reading the first book it is a great concept.

Books were obtained from Portal Bookshop in York. New queer/SFF store, lovely folks, nice selection both new and secondhand.
