Mehso-so

This started well and was cute overall, but the ridiculous lack of adult conversations was annoying. I still enjoy this author‘s humor so am continuing in the series. 3⭐️

1. The scholastic book fair.
2. I know this will be controversial but school lunch… we had the best cook!
3. Spending time with my friends

dabbe #2: Boy, were you lucky! 😂 Thanks for sharing. 💛🤎🧡 4w
Aims42 Scholastic Book fairs were THE BEST!!! Loved when they came and honestly, they introduced me to the idea that buying books and reading books are two separate hobbies 😆 Also, loved the book sale flyers too. I‘d go home and very carefully circle all the books I wanted lol 4w
peaKnit Oh scholastic books fairs, the best! 4w
BethM Let me tell you- when I got to take Wes to his first scholastic book fair last year my heart healed 😂❤️ @Aims42 I think I look forward to fliers more than my son right now 😂 4w

I don‘t get in reading slumps very often but here‘s what I do to jump the slump:

1️⃣ Changing to something light & low-stakes will usually get me moving through it. My top choices are cozy mysteries, cozy fantasy or thrillers.

2️⃣ Switching to a different format (print to audio or Kindle) or choosing a different genre of book from what I was reading mixes it up.

3️⃣ Changing location—reading outside or going to a coffeeshop can help.

LoverOfLearning I prefer audiobooks so I'm struggling with a physical book I'll pick up the audio. If that's not available or I don't like the nararrators voice I'll try a new book before going back to it. 7mo
DebinHawaii @LoverOfLearning Yep-changing to the audiobook can help if I‘m struggling with the print or vice versa. The narrator‘s voice is so important! 7mo
JamieArc I didn‘t think about the coffee shop idea. I do that too - schedule coffee shop time specifically to read. 7mo

I feel like I‘ve been through more book slumps than normal in the past year or two. I do two things.
1. I read the first paragraph of like 5 different books that appeal to me and see if any of them immediately suck me in.
2. Graphic novels or middle grade reads that I can read quickly usually help a lot. Finishing something helps me get my reading mojo back.

BookmarkTavern Graphic novels are a great option! Thanks for posting! 7mo
