My next book for #authoramonth @Soubhiville

Fairy tales were already dark, but this retelling leans into a quieter, creepier horror. A Sorceress Comes to Call focuses on coercive control, abusive family dynamics, and the slow accumulation of dread. Inventive, unsettling, and darkly funny, with a refreshingly practical heroine. A standout among fairy-tale retellings.

Thank you so so much for the fantabulous #allhallowsreads package @LeahBergen .This was a perfect Halloween/anniversary treat. That's definitely my new favorite bookmark,& the bag is perfection. Treating myself to this goose girl retelling. T. Kingfisher books always give me the same feeling I felt as a kid reading fantasy books.

A reimagining of the Brothers Grimm's “The Goose Girl“. Not the strongest of the Hugo Best Novel nominees this year, but I enjoyed the novel very much, as I do all of T. Kingfisher's stories.

My Kobo informed me that a T. Kingfisher book I hadn‘t read was on sale today, so naturally I grabbed it!

This was entertaining. It was a heartwarming found family with fun mature characters.

5✨ This was not a surprise 5 Star for me because I have read it close to when it was copy written in 2003/2005. I loved it then and I love it now! It also caused me to follow the author ever since. The princess Ani is forced to become Isi and the Goose Girl for the king of her arranged marriages land. All in her company died to save her, but the villain in this story did not anticipate the talents of Ani‘s animal speak, and her determination.

Had to share a picture, because I love all the extra artwork shared throughout this trilogy! #Dedication

“To the gremlin girls,
I would like to tell you something inspiring,
but the truth is,
when life closes a door for us,
it doesn‘t always open a window.
The good news is:
that‘s what bricks are for.”
